Hello everyone,

I bought a kimber mountian ascent in 280ai about 4 months ago from corlanes in BC and have less then 3 boxes of ammo threw it and the butt pad is breaking off of the stock now. I hope this is not a normal thing for these guns? It has sat in a safe for the 4 months other then 3 times of taking it to the range and shooting it in a lead sled. I am wondering who I contact in canada to get this fixed? I did talk to corlanes and they said I could send it to them and they can send it away but it would take over a month so they suggested for me to deal directly with it myself.

I am unsure how to post a pic on here of it or else I would but if someone wanted to see then I can email the pics.

Thanks for the help

The butt pad is breaking off?
Didn't Whelan Lad have a similar issue with his recent purchase of a Kimber have this issue??
Post a picture so we may get a better understanding of your issue.
And if the glue is letting go I would suggest reglueing it ones self and forget about a $50.00 postage bill and awaiting **six months** return for warranty.
**the six month comment** is just a number pulled from thin air. Korth is/does a better turn around on their work.

edit to add..to post a pic one needs a host server as it photo bucket or tiny pics....

Hey too true!

Sounds familiar doesn't it.

Well, what I ended up doing was going to the hardware store, and specifically finding a plastic and various material, super strong glue, like a super glue - called Selleys Plastfix- I believe. $9 for a mini tube.

Its actually looks like a Weld.... and has not continued to crack/stress , I messed up trying to sand it down a little, gave it a misty look, should of left alone an had a clear weld look. not ideal but hey, my kimbers a tuff #####.

Perhaps try shooting without a lead sled - all that force that your shoulder normally dissipates goes right into the stock when using a sled.

I would not be surprised if Kimber said no to a warranty as this was caused by using a sled...
