Kimber Pro Carry II, ?remove full length guide rod?

Does anyone know if it is possible to convert a kimber procarry II from the factory full length guide rod to a traditional spring and plug setup ??

sorry I got to thinking and since this is a bushingless design I think I am screwed and have to keep it stock...

Yes, it's possible.

All you need is a proper-length recoil spring guide and a proper-length reverse guide rod plug (like one of those depicted) that matches the reverse-plug cuts in your slide. (In some cases, a slide must be machined to accept a reverse plug. In many cases the slide is already machined for a reverse plug.) You can probably use the recoil spring that you already have.
