Did a few searches, found some info - just wondering if anyone can offer their $0.02 on these guns in restricted form (barrel sticking out)

I own a kimber pro carry II, have about 500 rounds thru it now and no failures of any kind to mention that where not shooter induced....

my personal pet peeve with these pistols is that kimber sells them for the most part with blacked out "target" sights.... no white dots and no nightsights (the majority)

other wise I love my kimber as much as I do the rest of my 1911's.

That's the only thing I dislike about mine as well. Other than that, it shoots really well and I haven't had any failures after a few hundred rounds. I like how it breaks down, too. A little easier than a conventional 1911.
 
holster I run a standard bladetech for a full size 1911... fits fine and good retention.

I have a set of factory kimber night sights ordered from Alberta Tactical Rifle, beleieve the total shipped was $182 and about a 3-4 month wait to come in.

other then the none night sights, i like the kimber and will probably buy a few more since they offer features not many others do. I currently own an STI Trojan and Ruger SR1911 in addition to the kimber.

the gun is IDPA compliant because bull barrel is not longer then 4.2 inches so it falls under that ruling, the onlything that might make it illegal in IDPA is if you shoot in the USA where they would not recognize the extended barrel as legal.
 
What holsters is everyone using? Mag pouches?

I'm looking to order some but not sure if it will fit a full size holster or if it needs a specific type.nthe tauga ones from Canada ammo look nice
 
it will fit a full size holster, with some adjustment... I have one ofthe newer bladetech ice holsters which is more econoline then the stingray and between using the same holster for a fullsize to the kimber I have to tighten the retention screws a little bit.

ALL holsters use the trigger guard as a reference point, they will only let the gun slide in as far as that, so barrel length is usually not a factor for the same class of gun.... unless the slide has a different contour like the SIGS
 
Any suggestions between: focus,nuance mikes, blade tech and Blackhawk for a plastic holster and double mag pouch for this gun? I have to order online and haven't seen the fit of any of these holsters, so if you have experience let me know!
 
stick with either uncle mikes or bladetech... easily found in canda.. I shop at dstactical above since they have a nice webstore that is easy to use and they also take EMT orders thru email.
