hello i thinking about getting this handgun. i know i was just talking about getting the ruger gp100 and the beretta 92fs but i decided i dont need anymore ruger firearms and still havent decided on the beretta. but anyways back to the kimber. i have shot my uncles ruger sr1911 and love how the 1911 fit in my hand. i also like on the 4 1/4 inch barrel on the kimber. and it looks so dam good!! can anyone comment on the kimber and maybe show a picture or two?
thanks.

Kimber has had more then a acceptable number of quality control issues (google is your friend)... That said some people have had no issues with them...

Personally I would not buy one because at the end of the day... perception is reality and their resale values are poor !!

I've had a stainless Kimber pro carry for over a year and a half. Between my girlfriend and I we've probably put 7 or 800 rounds thru it. Factory ammunition was never an issue and I only had a minor ftf problem with a batch of 45 that I loaded for another pistol--a small adjustment to the c.o.l. and it was all good. The gun is fun to shoot and way more accurate than I thought a short barrel could be. I don't shoot it much any more --can't get it away from the girlfriend!! I bought mine from Roger at Shooters choice in Alta. Highly reccommended.

Had a bad time with my pro carry II... it ejected at least one spent casing per mag right back at my face, changed the extractor and it didn't help. Then the trigger started to act up, I could pull the trigger with no response even though a round had chambered proper. Problem with the trigger sear or something. This was all within 500 rounds.
I sent it back to the dealer and exchanged it for Walther P99. Best gun in the world.

It is well reported that Kimber compacts spit brass back at your face.
Will echo the comment made by CousinTony.

Also the bushingless barrel take-down is a minor hassle.
The full size gun looked more appealing after the fact.
Still a potent little blaster though, i just keep saying it needs more rounds through it.
