Looking at purchasing the Kimber Pro Crimson Carry II like this....

Anyone have one? Any issues? Any stocking dealers right now?

I don't own a 1911, so take this with a good-sized grain of salt but ........ Ed Brown and some other makers produce their "Carry" pistols in 4.25 inch. They say that since the 1911 was originally designed for a 5 inch barrel, reducing all the way to 4 inches adversely affects reliability. I have no idea whether or not this is true but a 4.25 inch 1911 certainly looks better than a 4 inch with 4.25 inch barrel.

I have a stainless pro carry II--no laser so I can't comment on that but, as far as the gun itself goes, I love it. The 10 meter targets that I shoot with my buddy's Les Baer are only marginally better that the Kimber targets. I found it to be a little bit fusst with some of my swc handloads but since I increased my crimp a hair, it's functioned flawlessly. I bought mine from Roger at Shooters Choice-- best pricing and service ever!!

Try those shots @25M to 50M targets with both pistols and you'll see more than a marginal difference. Not to argue that the Kimber isnt a nice pistola but you're comparing apples to oranges here. Guessing the Baer is Govt. lenght on top of it.

I have the full size crimson and it's my least favorite kimber that I own, the laser is cool but the button on the middle finger of the grip to activate it is uncomfortable for me, but that's just me.

My 2 favorites are the stainless target and grand raptor

I already have a Springfield Loaded Operator in black stainless. I'll have to check out that theory.....
