I see that SIR now has a couple of different Kimber rifles in stock. Are they worth the amount that they're asking? Are they really that good, or could a custom 10/22 keep up?

IMHO - Not realy a comparison, it's apples and oranges. Kimber makes
one of the better bolt 22s on the market.

I guess I was asking about accuracy. Some 10/22s are pretty accurate. What are the Kimber triggers like?

I've owned a Kimber Classic .22 and whether they are worth the money depends on what you are looking for.

My Kimber was a very pretty rifle. Nice wood, good finish, decent chequering. But it had a few glitches. The trigger was around 4lbs., crisp enough but with noticeable overtravel. Inside the screws to adjust the trigger were sealed with Loctite.

The bolt stop was poorly installed and resulted in the bolt coming loose several times until it was adjusted correctly. It had feeding problems with a couple of the magazines and with certain ammo.

The safety was a two-position wing safety that incorporated the worst virtues of the two-position and wing style safety. It was reasonably accurate but not impressively so. I owned a Cooper Arms Model 36 that would shoot rings around the Kimber.

If I wanted pretty I'd buy a Kimber. If I wanted performance I'd buy a Sako Quad. If I wanted both I'd buy a Cooper Arms or an Anschutz.

I think I'm in love with the SVT. That is one nice looking gun. Thanks for the info though.
