Kimber Rimfire Target .22lr or......?

here's an other pic !

A S&W model 41 is an excellent choice for a .22 as well. I've got the kimber, glock and kadet kits, as well as a ruger mkIII standard and a high standard supermatic citation. Most of the failures I've experienced with cheap ammo are weak firing pin strikes. Personally, I prefer the Kimber, misfires and all.

First trip out with my new Shadow + Kadet kit. 120 rnds of 9mm (Practically all I could get my hands on recently WHAT'S WITH OTTAWA? - 1 green box of 115gr? fmj - 1 WWB 124gr - and 2 mags of WWB 147gr jhp) and for .22 a full brick of Blazer value pack, 525 rnds, and 2 mags from the Federal 525 value pack.

That was a fun outing and I suffered only 3 malfunctions. 1 .22 dud from Blazer, 1 fail to chamber a blazer (it was getting a bit gunky near the end), and one fail to extract a 9mm WWB (124gr fmj).

I'm stoked about that gun decision! So, um that's +1 for the CZ center fire & Kadet Kit.

If anybody remembers, I was the one concerned about the action staying open with the Kadet Kit. While it doesn't when manually playing with an empty mag, it stayed open all but one time when actually firing .22 rounds through it. (Bit of relief there)

Good luck OP on your selection. You seem to be fairly relaxed with your "first .22 gun budget" compared to a lot of other folks, so you should be pretty happy.

Incidentally Wolfgang had delivered a little present to me upon my return from the range. I shan't be wanting now..

I can tell you from someone who was in the same situation last year that the cz kadet is the best thing you could do with your money. I made the mistake of just buying the kadet pistol and was kicking myself 2 months later, as I was bored of shooting only .22lr. Do yourself a favor and buy the big gun, and then get the conversion kit to go with it. Even if you plan on putting the 9mm slide assembly in the closet you will be glad you have it later on. I ended up getting a glock 17 and an Advantage Arms .22lr conversion for it. total spent about 1200 bucks. But you could get the cz 75 used for 5-600 and buy the kadet kit for 4-500. You will not regret it, the kadet was a little more accurate than the glock but the .22lr is just for plinkin as I reload now.

Kind of off topic but do you guys know if any of the conversion kits work on 9mm 1911's? I've been looking at one of the Taurus 1911's and the gun with whatever conversion kit I decide on wouldn't be a whole lot more than the kimber .22 and than I'll have 2 guns in 1 :)

depends on the specs for the taurus. I would say go with a norinco it's cheap I got one of canada ammo for 400 bucks delivered. It is the police model with the extended slide stop, and beavertail, and ambi safety. It is a very nice gun for the money and it is made to colt specs, so the .22lr should fit it although I never tried. Every other 1911 part fits it as far as I know though. You have to be sure of the specs on the taurus.

Maybe I should just create another thread but I'll ask anyways. Anyone had experience with a beretta .22lr conversion kit or know where to get one?

Cz and conversion kit

I have a Kadet and it is awesome so much that a friend that I shoot with just purchased one and yet another friend wants one !! Once you shoot it you will love the feel and look!! It fires anything the cheaper the better it seems.. I have put probably 4000s rounds through it and only had a handful of failures usually the cheap ammo. The idea of a CZ 75 and conversion would be a great combo also I have a shadow and it is a great pistol also. I have not used the conversion kit but in reading it seems to have great reviews also. Have fun,

add a quick note on Kadet

I was on Armco' website last night and he has a picture of a used Kadet no price might be worth sending Gunner and email to see if he still has it and what he wants for it.

I have a Browning Challenger on the EE. For $500 you get a superb, quality made .22 that will be more accurate than the shooter for ever.

Check it out.
