Kimber Warrior or Springfield Operator TRP?

I shot the Warrior this weekend and it was the coolest 1911 (in .45 :) ) that I have ever shot! (btw, it was fitted with real Simonich Gunner grips) That having been said, I have handled (though not shot) some very nice STIs and the awesome SA Operator TRP...so which of these two contenders would you choose and why? One thing that I like about both of them is the ultra rough grip...seriously, I do like that ultra grippy wing walk feel

some springfields are made in Brazil, as i recently found out... is the TRP made in the US like the Warrior???

i would pick the Warrior though, just cuz i know i can get good after sales service from TSE
 
warrior because I do not like full length dust covers on a single stack.... and frankly kimber service is handled by TSE so I would never have to wory about anything.

don't know who the Springfield Importer but I would hazard a guess rh nichols has thier finger in it **PUKE**
 
I've never shot either pistol, so I have no real opinion of my own here. But Hilton Yam ( www.signaturegrade.com ), a very well respected customizer of 1911s in the US has stated a strong preference for the Kimber Warrior. The only Springfield he recomends above the Kimber is the Springfield Professional. Keep in mind though, that Hilton's customized 1911s are specifically targeted to LE and other hard-use end users, so that's the angle he's looking at these from.

Ive owned two Kimbers.The Tactical Custom II and the TLE II wich I presently own.And I presently own the TRP Operator and have to say that the Operator hands down is a far superior handgun.
The full length dust cover and the Bull barrel make the TRP a totally controlable gun to shoot.The muzzle flip is half of that of the regular 1911 pistols.The fit and finish of the TRP are top notch.If you have a chance to get your hands on a TRP you will not regret it.That being said I also have to say that the Kimber that I have owned have been excellent pistols as well.

The frame and slide ARE made in Brazil, but by IMBEL. The same guys that make the very best in FAL's. There's no problem with the Imbel stuff, top notch.

Springfield Armory is handled in Canada by our friends over at Wolverine Supplies. John, Pat, and Ryan will be more than happy to bend over backwards to help you out if you ever have a problem with the Operator.

I was looking at them extensively, but I think I'll just go with a Sig P226R (As I had orignally planned, some time ago) due to cost. I can get the Sig for half the price, then add a couple (Or six) mags and a bunch of gear to make up the difference :wink:

But if I had the money to burn? I'd buy the SA TRP Operator over ANYTHING. :mrgreen: (Well... maybe not a custom STI or SVI... But that's just me.)

the operator has the better features, adjustable sights and mag well.... then the kimber and is only $350 more then the kimber warrior,, well worth the price difference
 
but come on, those crazy grips look like you would have to shake that gun off your hand. RL being the knife mecca knows how important the grip of a weapon could mean everything. Throw those grips on the TRP and your set!
 
Sig 220R does all that those do at half the price and better all around pistol/quality :D
 
These pistols are quite different from each other. The Operator is a very high end 1911 with all the factory upgrades and goodies. It is excellent value for the money, I have not heard one bad thing about this pistol.
On the other hand the Warrior is a copy of what the Marines at SOCOM are being issued IIRC. The Warrior does not have the latest and greatest parts. However the Warrior is crazy reliable, accurate and tough, minus all the goodies.
