Kimberly 223 heavy barrel

So I have my eye on a really nice rifle. It's a Kimber 223 target varmint it has a heavy barrel. My only concern is that the barrel is only 18.5 inches. How does a short barrel affect the accuracy? I'm looking for mainly target shooting at 100 to 300 yards. I have a ziess 4x14 that would go on it quite nicely. Anybody have any experience with this rifle?

The short barrel will be nice and stiff great for accuracy. If the twist rate is fast some heavy bullets and you will have a great shooter for the distances you state.
