Kind of hard to live without a semi....

When you hunt the Big 5 as planned you won't be taking and sharing photos?

We choose to buy a 7.4 acres Domaine in La Cote d'Azur, so all my plan for Africa are almost gone, but if i ever go i guess pictures will be mandatory... JP.

All I can encourage is chase the experiences, not the material crap, the experiences you can take to the grave. :) Africa won't be there forever, basic hunting rifles will be. I have spent far too much on rifles, well over $100k by now, and only found real satisfaction in going and using them rather than acquiring. :) We're all different but that's my take, and if you can afford a rifle a month and Africa all the more power to you. For those of us where it's one or the other, buy a rifle a year, and hunt Africa every 5 years.

I say this not so much for caramel, his mind and path is made, but for the younger guys idolizing nothing more than rifle acquisition. I did that for far too long, I don't know gtrussell or the while debate one iota, but I do believe he actually hunts frequently no?

In the end, find what makes ya happy.

My best hapinness doesnt involve a single dollar, my kids, grandkids, family and friends make me a rich man, buying 15 rifles a years is just an passionate activity but it would never be in first place, it is fun because all my loved ones are healty and secured, Africa ... Maybe but if i dont go i still get to see all those half a million dollars cars and boob jobs in Cannes and get to see a great race car at the Monaco GP, there is worst... JP.

Just pick up a brand new Benelli R1 Confortek 338mag from Epps, as hard i wanted to stay away from semi rifles, it is very hard not to get a 338mag semi Benelli R1 comfortek complete with piccinaty rail, iron sights and checkrest, those are seldom seen at a dealer and when they are they are there the time of a fart, i guess my diet was not very long in time... JP.

One month ago you wrote: "The last semi of my herd is gone.... Since that reclassification tsunami, i decided to get rid of all my centrefire semi rifles"

Well, glad you seen the light and have been saved!

Time always calm you down... JP.

I did not think you where concerned.

Some fellows need hero's, other fellow's are hero's.

Nice to see you back GT! I also see that your little break from CGN did nothing as far as your attitude goes. Final warning, start contributing something useful to the board and stop trolling or you will be gone for good. That means never being allowed back just in case I wasn't clear enough.

Good deal, family is the ultimate wealth. :)

I'm in my late 20's with a baby on the way... Caramel is retired and has a great collection.... Perhaps calling him a hero is a bit much but I think most get my drift.
Tread carefully gtr... You seem like a knowledgeable guy but most of your posts are just short little jabs... Perhaps reflect and contribute a bit more.... or don't....
