Have a chance to buy a colt king cobra stainless 6 inch bbl for 1400.00. Over all good condition. Owner estimates 1000 rnds thru it. Hear values all over the board high low. Would it be a good investment for that kinda money? All i probally do is get it and then let it go. Have pics of it if anyone is able to give me a hand.
 
That's a great price!! If you're looking to buy and sell for a profit it may not be worth your time. Many are asking $2K but sell for $1600-$1800 depending on condition and original box / paperwork ect.
 
Im thinking on just unloading it to help the old guy out has a phobia of online and old school face to face type of guy. Alot of cash for me to tie up. If anyone is wanting could work something out. He thru box and paper work out.

Many people believe that the values of guns like this have been driven up by the rarity & desireability of Colt Pythons & Anacondas.
While there is some irrational exhuberance attached to these other revolvers, the inflated values just don't pan out.

It's a nice C$1000.00 gun used in excellent or VG+ condition.
 
Its not a Python and even those are overvalued. However its worth what the buyer is willing to pay. Personally, there is no KCobra that is worth over $1000 in my opinion. Thats just my opinion but you feel free to pay as much as you like so long as it makes you happy.

Not withstanding your opinion on the gun what really matters is what these guns are actually selling for in the market. Lately that has been in the high teens to the 2K area.Are they "worth" that? ....probably not but that is what people have been paying and therefore that is the market value.

The Enhanced version may fetch a few hundred more state side but really shouldn’t. A lot of KC were actually enhanced without any premium from factory.

The Enhanced version has a recess crown, a larger release latch that is the same size as the Anaconda's. The Colt pony stamp is moved a bit closer to the grips. The hammer and trigger are new parts and not left overs from the Trooper MK V's. The rubber grips look the same but are fatter compared to the early models.

Some will say that the enhanced version is a different model and other will argue that they are later model made with newer parts after the Trooper part bin was empty. It’s hard to say since Colt has a habit of mixing things up when they go out of small parts to complete left over frames and barrels.
