King Optics

i've read a couple of previous posts about them, but reading their website takes the cake:D

first you have the highlander scope, the best scope made, as claimed by them.

you have to love that green coating whatever it does:)

then there's the backcountry, nothing says pimpin like a gold turret:redface:

plus their new feature, the only ones like it, fluted scope bodies, for the discerning buyer who doesn't want the maximum amount of ring to scope body tension, nothing says cool like having your scope slide back in the rings and smack you:D

sorry for the sarcasm, but for 600 -1400 dollars i would personally stick with a leupold or a nightforce.

oops, i did forget to add the bushy 6500's i do so much like:)

I love their commercial where 2 guys are sitting at a table and hold the scope out and drop it. lol What did that prove, they don't show if it held zero. I laugh every time I see it

Has anyone actually used one? It would be nice to see what users (experianced ones) have to say. Unfortunately at those prices its hard to take that chance.

Re: King Optic Scopes

htt://www.king optics.com/feedback.htm

Lots of feedback from customers at the link above if anyone is interested. Why would a company gaurantee a return if you are not satisfied AND have a lifetime replacement warranty?, I can't imagine the company offering those options if the scopes were garbage, it would be a waste of everyone's time.

There are many customers who are blown away by the quality of these scopes and some guys don't mind paying a little more for quality. I think because they are a company that hasn't been around as long as the others, people are afraid to buy from them. I see this company being in the race with the other top scope manufacturers sooner than later.

perhaps you need to send a few samples to some the pro shooters here on cgn to try out.

i would listen to them, random responses on a companies website always seem to positive all the time.

and how does fluting a scope body make any sense, it just appears to limit the available contact between the rings and scope, causing sliding during recoil.

just a thought.

On the commercial on Wild TV they show a target with some holes in it that appear to be about 25 yards away, not sure what that proves though they do mention something about being able to withstand magnum recoil. I have been trying to get one of my shooting buddies to buy one to see how they are, they sure have that cheesy "Made in China" look to them, might be good on an AK or an SKS though.

YES,I agree. Japanese optics are well made and well priced... Chinese optics?...They can do it for sure, If they want...maybe in few years! and for U.S optics?...f**kin over priced!!!

I posted the wrong information with regards to the wall thickness(10mm) of the king Optics fluted scope resulting in confusion for members. Contacting the company directly will answer any questions you have.

The king optics fluted scope is 10mm thickness which makes it strong. Like all scope manufacturers their products are designed and tested by engineers many times before hitting the market. The scope was tested on the heaviest recoil and there were no dents or sliding and they remained at zero.

King Optics engineers apply the latest technology to their optics to produce a high quality product. I can't find anyone who has bought one these scopes that is unhappy with it. You can send any technical questions you have regarding the king optics products to info@kingoptics.com

cheers

huh?

what is 10mm thick?

the tube itself should be either 1" (25mm) or 30mm, are you saying the scope internal diameter is 10mm, making the wall thickness 7.5mm?

regarding the fluting, i'm no engineer but it would appear that fluting the tube cuts the amount of contact space in half due to the gaps of the flute, kind of like shaving off half the tread from your car tire's would cause your vehicle to grip less, in turn causing them to lose traction and spin more often, or am i missing something:confused:

btw, no offense intended but you sound like a sales rep for king optics;)

Does anyone know where the glass is made?

The truth is that even if that scope or at least parts of it are made in China that may not be a horrible thing. The Falcon line are essentially china made scopes.

All I am trying to say is that it doesn't seem fair to make a negative comment on a product if we haven't had a first hand experience with it.

peace
