Kiwis: Hungry M14 Clinic in New Zealand?

well so far it looks like the kiwi bretheren have let us down..

havent been able to organise anything solid, or generate much interest.. so its going to be me and Hungry meeting in rotorua for lunch at this point :D .. talk M14, eat waaaaayy too much good food and probably drink a little too much as well
 
So here I was heading out to the Great Barrier Reef yesterday in one of those high speed catamarans.. My mom says,"You wanna go para-sailing? I'll pay for it all..."

I had to jump at that chance so I passed on the extra 2 hour venture to the outer great barrier reef to have an adrenalin shot (for free of course....)

I was on the towing boat with 5 other japanese ladies who all turned out to be nurses from Tokyo ;) Yahooo! The motor boat guide and I had to help out these sweet ladies with their life jackets. Me being the goofy canuck, I thought all the asians spoke French like the vietnamese did/ or at least they used to. After a couple of "Calise ########(s) " , we got them all sorted out.

The young nurse in the harness with me screamed almost the entire duration we were above the water surface so I had to put on my 'sensei' hat and start the tactical breathing I learned from LCol David Grossman found in his book, "On Killing". Yuk yuk yuk

She settled down and then the wind picked up and bounced us around beneath the canopy. Major seasickness kicked in, but because I'm an experienced (031) Light Infanteer, I had to swallow back my (pride) brekkie as they say here in Cairns, Aussieland.

Whoops, gotta run . Will start again tonight.

Trying to motivate Kiwi shooters to do anything is an exercise in frustration. A lot couldn't even be ####ed making submissions against our latest gun control bill. Have a great time over here Barney, I would have bought my M14 for you to look at if it didn't blow up :redface:
 
Okay I'm back from dinner along the Espalanade here in Cairns....

As the staff winched all the sweet nurses (life does not get any better when you are surrounded by 5 nurses) ;) in, all of them were motion sick and had to use the barph bags all the while listen to me pointing the 'finger of authority' at them. :D

:dancingbanana: Little did they realize that as soon as I docked, I ran for the loo and heaved ho! LOL Thanks for private stalls on the loo on Green Island National Park! It was a long run along the jetty, but infantry training pays off! :nest:

Today, we had the day to ourselves and like a fool, I took my 77 year old mom shopping with me. It was a 20 minute walk to the Cairns downtown mall by their old railroad station. We visited a Knife Shop and my mom hooked me up with a 120 Lumen weapon light for my evening excursions. Comes with a pressure switch too! LED bulb and it takes 4 x AAA batteries. Damn this thing works well! I also got a chance to visit a gun shop here on Draper Ave in Cairns.

All I can conclude is that we sure are lucky (even luckier to know that our CPC majority is gonna scrap the LGR). The shooters in Aus are closely watching the LGR dismissal process (and so are we, too). Our prices are much nice in Canada and we are truly blessed. It makes me want to go out to Ellwood Epps when I get home and blow a bunch of money I saved by not challenging any Outback Aussies to a drinking contest with the ###X Beer! :D Yah, right! :) I'm just joking.

Yes, they do sell handguns, but one must belong to a pistol club. Sound familiar? They are not allowed to own semi-automatics, but pump guns and lever actions (as well as bolt actions) are legit! I always thought ALL handguns were banned, I was wrong. No worries, mate!

Tomorrow I'm off to Sydney and I'll blog from there! I've got a shooting engagement in Canberra! :D

The sunrises are great here. The boardwalk in Cairns is fantastic for my runs and then Kommando Yoga in front of the public workout machines.... (read: Muscle beach). It does not get any better with the staff bringing you breakfast (I really prefer the buffet) after a workout along the boardwalk. Yeah, I did shower before brekkie (as the Aussies call it) :)

Gotta visit a botanical garden today and see some carnivorous plants... way cool :eek:

beavis.. im meeting up with Hungry in Rotorua on thursday if you can make it ? since none of the other [INSERT EXPLETIVE HERE] kiwi shooters were even willing to put their hands up for a clinic..

its going to be lunch, guntalk and booze .. .and not in that specific order :D
 
I'm back from my little adventure (living with the locals) in Canberra. My train ride with CountryLink was smooth and cool because they had a rolling cafeteria on the Alpha car... I was in the Bravo car. So for brekkie, I had a beef pie that are famous here in AUS with orange juice...nice and tart. Less sugar than we got in Canada.

I visited the Australian War Museum in Canberra and after 3 hours I was totally drained. It was an emotional visit. After watching Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck and Cuba Gooding Jr, one would think that our Yank brothers won the Pacific Campaign single handedly. Wow, those Aussies sure gave some and then took some! :eek: I learned a whole lot.

I got out in the bush for a few hours with some funny results. I will post pics once I get off this continent and back home. My hunting mates were a barrel of laughs, even cooked dinner for me in the bush (not quite the outback, eh?).

Flying to Auckland tomorrow to meet up with Felix.NZ for some M14 fun!
