Klaus is still around at the old place in Eastman, Qc. I dropped off a stock to be refinished last weekend. He is a bit slower at 72 but I saw a lovely gold inlay of a woodcock for a pistol grip done by him. He was also restoring a hammer side by each. I shipped the butt pad 2 day express Saturday. He called me today that he got it. He has to rely on his daughter who is in Cowansville to drive him to the post office.

He is alone in his house. He is not computer literate. His x girlfriend took care of email. His daughter is 30 minutes away and visits once a week. His son lives near me so that is 130 Km away. He has been at it for 40 years this year. He has a few stocks to make. He had 4 stocks that were in his stock hanging cabinet. Three were nearly ready for shipping. I don't think that he is willing to make pieces now and is more selective with the work that he will take on. He mentioned that he will probably sell the house and land soon and move to be near his daughter. "Preferential" perhaps, but I have been dealing with him since 1988 and never had an issue for quality or price. To refinish my stock, he is charging less than what he charged me in 2003 to oil finish my 391 Optima Gold.
