I think the next big step should be adopting caseless ammuntion, or alternatively propelled ammunition (i.e, railgun).

I fired a Tavor back a couple of years ago, and it impressed the hell out of me. Loved it. Easy to point, everything was ergonomically set up for easy access. The only questions I never got answered were:

1) can it be set up for a lefty?
2) can you remove the red dot that's on it and put your own optics on it?

I had to fire the thing right handed and it was a bit challenging, but still was a real nice feel.

No idea on your rail question though

It takes me about 5 mins to remove the barrel and swap the rails.

Taking the TAR21 apart is not that hard... just do it right..... read the directions or you cant unlock the barrel.

I get about 2 MOA out of mine, if I was a better shot and the trigger was softer I would bet it would be 1 MOA.....
