Knights SR-25's pre order

In a related question, will you be bringing in SR-15 lowers to go with the uppers at some point?

Thanks!

Farmboy can you share some of the specs and features on the SR25? I wanna know what makes it almost double the price compared to the LMT MRP 308. Im in the market for a .308 and wanna talk comparison.

-Does it have a quick change barrel system?
-Does it have a monolithic upper?
-Is the upper and lower billit machined, or forged?

Alright, we are good to go! Place your pre order now for the SR-25. You won't be charged till we know it is being shipped.

Hey Darren,

I have two questions:

1. When you say the buyer "won't be charged till we know it is being shipped", does that mean shipped from KAC to you or from you to a prospective buyer? I'm guessing you mean the former. In that case, you would be charging the buyer before you had possession of the rifle. Is that correct? Sorry to be so technical, but we are are talking about a large outlay here and I'm not sure of your meaning...

2. How are you getting around the US State Dep't 7.62 export restrictions?

Thanks Darren!

Hey Darren,
How are you getting around the US State Dep't 7.62 export restrictions?

I'm sure that everything's on the up and up, but sometimes I think that people ask questions that shouldn't be asked. How is somebody doing this, or that? Who gives a s**t! Shut up about it, and enjoy that they can, or will. It doesn't matter how. Don't discuss it, reap the benefits.

disclaimer: it doesn't matter how only refers to legal activities.
disclaimer = clarification.

^ Those are two big features it doesn't have, I wonder why it's waaay more money...
Because it can put bullets into one raggedy hole far away? And it seems to be very well engineered.

Kevin B said a while ago that the SR-25's chamber was a proprietary .308 KAC and not 7.62x51mm NATO, and maybe they succeeded in convincing the State Department.

Correct.

but we are are talking about a large outlay here

Yes, and we have buyers that back out of buying a $100 item that we brought in for them because "something came up". Now we are bringing in a $6000 + item

How are you getting around the US State Dep't 7.62 export restrictions?

We don't get around stuff.

SR25 receiver is made of Extruction Tube.

It is 6.5K because it is KAC - and supposedly it works. You are buying the R&D that is supposedly go behind it ( financing KAC R&D - it should be apparent to everyone that KAC's pricing strategy is like Porsche, higher margin less volume makes sense for them)

And a dimpled barrel and sub-MOA accuracy.

For those who need to measure $ vs benefit - this is not for you. However, if money is not an issue and you want a fully loaded Porsche 911 Turbo S, then it is not that expensive really.

Hmmm oook, but so does the LMT... Did you see Questars range reports on the 308 segment? I did, and the LMT is a tack driver aswell...

Your post falls short of ACTUAL reasons that justify it's cost, but thanks anyway.

I guess Im guna have to wait for Kevinb to give some actual technical specs and data as to what makes their version so pricey. Im not dissin' Im just looking for facts to justify the extra cost...

So far all Im gettting from you guys is that the extra cost is just for the name.

Oh really? lol quite possibly the worst response thus far. So because I ask for technical specs, features and build material, (before I throw down 6K) I can't afford it???

Nice assumption,

Please tell me whats under the hood, cuz I dont spend money without doing some research first, I guess were differant...

Then do the research. Google KAC SR25 EMC and you will find many pages with all the specs and range reports you could ask for.

On the original topic, thanks for working on bringing these in at the best price yet Farmboy. Just placed my order.

I just told you what it is under the hood - read again.

lol... I forgot you're "simple" ...carry on

I just told you what it is under the hood - read again.

Not really you told me it's name and low volume, high margins that dictate price.

Anyway nevermind, I thought I was on topic here. I guess asking about a product that's being pre-sold via a discussion thread is not proper form. It seems these guns are only for the super arm chair elitists. I'll move along, thanks for the help fellas.

I wasn't making fun of you!!! :p....I was making fun of everyone else that drops a small fortune just to say they have something from "Knights Armament Company" H:S:

Too each their own. God knows I've spent big $ on stuff most people would consider silly ;)

.

What about guys who emailed you previously with orders do we have to reorder now that it shows you can order?

Update just put an order on the website cause with the email I sent last week it didn't have payment info or anything on it.
