So whatever happened to this cool rifle? Heard this was being used in Afganistan due to scarcity of 5.56 ammo at the time.

I guess it never made to the hands of civies.

Its called the AR47. There are a few companys that make a AR lower that uses AK mags..But steel ammo and mags would chew up the lower....

It is a sound concept, but with the AR gas system and dirty M43 ammo, it was doomed....

I seen an ad in special weapons magazine where they have a new lower for ARs that has an interchangable magazine well, so as to change to AK mags and back to AR mags. I am looking for the site tonight, but I cannot find it. I will post back when I find it. It looks like a real good option for 7.62x39 as it is so cheap.

I finally found the link it is called the modular AR reciever its at www.mgimilitary.com check it out they also have adapters for M14 mags. Now the AR platform is getting extremely modular.
