So My long awaited Knoxx spec ops came in the mail today. I'll spare you the details of my personal exceitment at its arrival. Anyway......
So I go to install it, my gun being preped already. Took the old stock off as soon as TSE called me to let me know it was in. First thing I had trouble with was removing the adjustable part of the stock. Had to get a screwdriver to lift the pin out far enough to facilitate the removel of the piece. I then proceeded to install the stock.
Thanks TSE for supplying the allen key needed to install the Knoxx.
First thing I noticed was that when I began tightening up the stock that it was starting to misalign. So I unscrew the thing and do another "dry" fit. Hmmm. The profiles seem to be bang on. Back to remounting the stock. I tried to tighten the stock as much as possible with the allen key provided. Still no joy. I also began to notice that the fit was not as good as one would expect. But than again what should someone expect for $130. Found a deep socket that I had lying around and used it as an extension to get more torque on the allen key. With much force the gap started to disappear. Once it was seated "properly" one could see that the fit was not perfect. Oh well at least its on now.
Well on goes the part I had to take off. Again had to use a screw driver to lift the pin High enought to get the part on.
Once I started sighting down the barrel I noticed that my head could not get down far enough to properly align the sights.
. I played with the position of the stock and noticed this phenomenome(sp?) seemed to decrease with the increase in the length of the stock I dont know if this is a problem yet as the gun always shot a bit low.
Anyway I am somewhat happy with the stock. The clincher will be the field trials. If it does what it says it does and I can use the sights then I will forgive any of the flaws I have found so far.
Will post more after the field trials.
I guess I should mention that the stock went on my Winchester Black Shadow DEER gun.
p.s. This is only my evaluation of this particulare stock and my shot gun. Your mileage may vary.
p.p.s. To all the spelling NAZIS, I apologise ahead of time for all my spelling and grammer mistakes.
