Anyone know a gunsmith that use to install polychokes that might still have one kicking around? I have been contemplating with the idea of putting a polychoke on that 22 inch Remington 1100 barrel that i was going to use to make the gun look like a competition master. Since i can't have the 8 shot mag on it, that pretty much ruins the whole look. Unless i pinned it back to 5 but that is stupid to spend a hundred bucks for cosmetic only, and then have to explain myself to every busybody at the gun club. So i might just poly choke it. I think the one with the compensator would look cool on the end of that short barrel. My local Smith can put it on. The only trouble is locating one. There are plenty on the American side of EBAY but i don't feel like begging them to ship it to me for extraneous amounts of money. Here is what i have so far. Right now the barrel is CYL bore as its been cut back. It is 22 inches overall. I think the gun will look pretty sharp with a polychoke on it and the wood + metal refinished

I think Poly Choke is still in business. I shipped a barrel to them about a year and a half ago and had a Poly installed. Process was painless but costly. With our dollar down it will be even more costly. Look up Poly Choke Nitram LLA and send an email to see if they are still doing business.

Contact Steve Milton at Precision Arms in King City Ont. Google the name and his site will come up. There is nothing he doesn't know about shotguns, and choke tubes etc. He can help you solve your dilemma concerning choke tubes and poly chokes.
There is a reason poly chokes are a thing of the past are were never overly popular when they were in the present. As guntech stated they have to be installed properly, that is aligned and concentric to the bore, and even then a properly installed set of choke tubes will give you better patterns. A poly choke may look good in your eyes but if it does not pattern well, or if improperly installed the only alternative is to get out the hack saw and make a paper weight out of it.
