Knox vs Mesa 870 stock

Looking for experience from shooters who have shot/handled/owned either or both.

I assume the Mesa will be a superior quality unit?
I am particularily interested in how the recoil reuction feels/works with either?

Significant $$ for either, more so the Mesa so i would like to have a degree of confidence of their function before dropping the coin.

Going on a couple different 14in 870's by the way.
I'm an experienced shooter and am not overly recoil sensitive but most pistolgrip stocks are painful to shoot after a while as they are designed for 5.56 semiauto use. Lightweight 12g pump buck/slug combo's...NO.
My rotator cuffs are already hurtin' from offroad dirtbike riding.....no point in punishing them further! LOL
 
The Mesa doesn't have a recoil reducer unless you buy that extra endine buffer thing. Probably can get two or three Knoxxs for the price of one Mesa.
 
I have a Knoxx Spec-Ops stock on my 14in barreled 870.

I'd judge the felt recoil on the shoulder to be only slightly more than shooting .22LR. Last weekend I put 250 rounds of 3in slugs, 2 3/4in slugs, 2 3/4in 00 buck, and 3in BB through it in the space of a couple hours.

If there's any downside to it, it's the fact that you can go through a crapload of expensive ammo in no time at all.

No experience with Mesa.
 
There is nothing better on the market today then the endine buffer.
I have a 12.5" rem 870 set up with our CQB stock adaptor system , useing the endine buffer.
It kicks less them my semi auto benilli m2!!
come to our sep 12th combat shotgun match and ill let us shoot it.

I've shot both and feel they are both good choices. However the construction left me wanting the mesa which is what I bought. The Mesa-Enidine is the cats ass. You can shoot anything all day long with both, but the Knoxx struck me as flimsier. All plastic and springs. My opinion is pretty subjective as I haven't heard of a Knoxx breaking, but I just felt more comfortable with the Mesa-enidine. Baaaaad-Aaaaaasssssssssss...... No Regrets and I will buy another.

I also wasn't fond of how the receiver moves relative to the pistol grip. It felt too gigly to me.

You won't go wrong with either, but the Mesa-enidine solution is the better one IMHO.
 
I have a Knoxx SpecOps on my Grizzly and it works great.

Any body have a Mesa LEO on their 590, how is it with bead sights? I want to put one on my 590 but I'm concerned about the sight picture, the tube seems to be a the same hight as the ATI stock which I have on right now, and that needs a Stock Drop Spacer for proper sight alignment.

I got a chance to handle a Mesa stock and the quality is amazing.
 
Both are excellent......

I have both units and I love them equally,,, but in different ways...

The knoxx unit has one distinct advantage over the mesa that everyone seems to over look, you have to have the Mesa stock shouldered to get the recoil reduction and you dont have to with the Knoxx. Its recoil system incorporates the pistol grip. If you plan on doing some hip shooting, go with the Knoxx.

The only drawback that I see with the knoxx, is that they are so tight for the first 20-30 rounds, that they can actually make the recoil worse. You need to break them in. I have even resorted to firing at least 20 rounds as part of the install before I will give them back to my customers. I have sold over 20 of them in the last two years, the first dozen werent so bad, however the last dozen I recieved (after bl@****wk took over ) have been very snappy. But when they are broken in, even my Dlask shortie is a dream.

So be careful FireMachine.... dont be discouraged by the first 5-6. It might want to jump out of your hands.

Anyway, I agree with Beeson, I bought my enidine from him and put it on my FN TPS and even magnum slugs are a joy.......
