Knoxx SpecOps Stock

Keep in mind boys that a shotgun must meet minimum overall length restrictions to avoid being prohib...as I recall a 14 inch barreled gun with a pistol grip only was unfortunately well under...(26 inches seems to stick in my mind...)

If this helps
if you put one of my or anyone elses single point sling mounts it will had to the OAL
Now my sling plate will add 0.330inch to the OAL of the rem870 shotgun.
thats the biggest on the market.
i know that a 14in barrle and a sage stock make the min.
But with a dlask 12.5in barrle it will not but only but 1/2inch
pm me for more info

sure they make your gun look ###y;) :D but they dont reduce recoil as much as they say they do...

you're right Brobee with most pistol grips they are under... but with the Knoxx grip because of the extension for the recoil absorbing mechanism the OAL is around 26 and 3/4".

If the OAL is 26.75" with stock uncompressed... what is it w/o? Just curious. I guess just subtract the 'gap'. It is not > 0.75" is it?

You'd have to compress the h*ll out of it to exceed the 3/4"- I can barely get it to move 1/4". I'm not sure how the law reads but it seems to me the intent is to restrict firearms that are concealable because of their length - then the uncompressed length would be the appropriate one I can't see why anybody would carry it compressed (even if they're built like Arnie in his heyday).

I didn't take measurements compressed . Have to check it out with a caliper.

That would be my only concern... if in fact is it is < 26" compressed, that particular total OAL might be considered the actual OAL, and not 'fixed'. These laws make me want to vomit sometimes.

I would say it travels more than a 1/4" though. See large pic of SpecOps.

myself i would not risk it get the gun as long as u can eather weld somthig nto the end of the stock or put a spacer like the single point sling befor the stock gos on.
You should look at it like this, if the stock was broken, i.e stock stsyem was not in place the stock could be made to close to less then 26ich then the law may not be on your side.
i would find a way to make it a little longer somehow.

Yes it looks like around 1" of travel.

I'm not sure about a broken stock tho. I think the law applies to an unbroken stock. If you have a 12.5" barrel or 14" barrel and the stock breaks at the pistol grip you would have a gun under 26" but that would not be considered the normal state of affairs as long as you put the gun away until a new stock is put on.

I guess another way would be to epoxy the system so the recoil sliding portion doesn't work.

Finally another question - if you have a permanently mounted surefire light on the forearm does this not add to the length of the firearm as well? you can weld a flashhider to the barrel to get more length so why not a light on the forearm?

Very good question.... bump

I put the Knoxx Breacher's Grip (pistol grip only Spec ops stock) on my 14" 870 remington police and it makes 26" with 1/4" to 1/2" to spare:D :D

When the breacher's grip was first announced I thought it might do that, but Knoxx wouldn't give me a straight answer about the length it added to the receiver. They seemed to think I was trying to circumvent some US law even though I explained I was Canadian and told them about our legal requirements.

Glad to hear I was right.

In the meantime I've gotten so used to shooting my pachmayr pistol grip one handed that I'll just stay with my current 18" setup and have a six round tube.

?

I can't say if it's OK or not, it's the first time I hear this kind of prerequise to buy a stock...

I don't to put my foot in my mouth...
