knoxx stock for 870?

No Waste

Nerves are in great shape, and they are still a waste of money!

The double spring system in the stock works well - We tested it and EVERYONE had faster times (IPSC timer) due to faster recovery from less recoil - the one you tested must have had a seized or broken spring . The Knox system does what is advertised - watch the knox videos - . By the way police #### teams are bying them in droves since they let the females on the teams --;):D

Why are peolple surmising about my health and the stocks that I tested.

I'm in reasonable health and the stocks were new.

A total waste of time and money.

People are gullable. It's a cure for a non existant problem.

yes - I am not recoil sensitive either - HOWEVER - for multiple goblins or I.P.S.C. and I.D.P.A. - you cannot discount faster times -- better chance for survival - better I.P.S.C and I.D.P.A. scores :50cal::50cal::50cal:

Ok. Without entering the p!ss!ng contest that is rapidly developing here, I'll say that I noticed a definite difference on felt recoil when I put a Knoxx telescoping stock on my 870. I also like being able to adjust the LOP.

The pistol grip as sold isn't great...but a Pachmyr slip-on grip sleeve (for pistols, actually) works wonders.

You do need to be aware that during recoil, you need to position your face carefully. IF you're really concerned about it, buy the Power Pak and fit the cheek rest portion. It will keep your head high enough up that there will be no chance of contact with the moving parts...although this may be to high for you.

The ergonomics may not be right for everyone...we're all built a little differently.

agree

Absolutely - !! Thats why I have a mesa tactical hydraulic tube fer my 14 inch, softer spring, lighter stock configuration for a lighter shotgun , better face plant. But fer a bigger shottie - the knox (heavier) with the riser works reeeeal goooood --------:):D

a little trick

get some pipe wrap (home hardware etc.) and glue it on the riser higher at the back than the front so u dont get cheek slap with the 3 in. slugs. The riser is angled the wrong way - follows the line of the stock - higher at the front so u can use it with irons - Higher at the back makes it more eugene stoner straight line design

Well, I haven't been shooting shotguns for 40 years, but I'm not set in my ways either, and I notice a huge difference. I have one mounted on my Grizzly, and won't be taking it off.

When my elbow has healed and physio is completed,

Me thinks you have one foot already in the grave, can I have your gun collection......:p

I agree with the other posters that the setup of the stock for eye height and pinched cheeks is an issue, I tried their "powerpack" and was not greatly impressed for the money. Also the stock is not well set up for the Mossberg controls and a fair number of sharp edges that needed dealing with.

can u beat 5 clays in 1.33 seconds - with a pump - ? Our best time -

Don't know - never tried!

You wish!

Cheek weld wasn't an issue with the Scattergun Tech sights that I installed. I will say that it was comfortable but so is my Choate PG stock, which is more comfortable.

I've been shooting shotties for over 30 years and when I don't hold it properly (read loose) I hurts.

I tried to hold it a few ways and no difference, and I stand by my statement.

I know exactly what you mean RePete, and I must agree.

To some, these new tech stocks are the next best slice of bread. To some of us old hammers, they are a solution for something we didn't have a problem with in the first place. :) Hold that gun tight to your shoulder, private!

Sure, these new fangled spring loaded commodities do what they claim, if you just so happen not to shoulder your gun properly. They sure look cool, tactical, yada, yada ...

What RePete is hurting himself to say, is that if you got some advice on how to shoulder a firearm correctly, you wouldn't have pain after a million shells downrange.

People don't seem to want advice, especially this young generation, so the stock makers came out with an idiot proof, springloaded buttstock to pacify the pain in your shoulder and your pocketbook. :D

How do I know this?

I tried counselling a shooter at a three gun match not to hold his buttstock on his bicept when firing. You know how some shooters hang over the side of the barricade with 3/4 of their gun ahead of the barricade instead of cutting the pie?? -- He looked in pain as he strained his neck for his cheek to meet the buttstock.
He dissed me saying he's been shooting for a million years. He didn't see the bruise running from his shoulder to his elbow untill I pointed that his million years experience is going to give him gangarine if he didn't get attention for his arm right of way.

So thought some of you guys have different opinions, consider that OLD GUYS KNOW STUFF. :D
