Knoxx stock + sling mount problem

I debated whether to post this here or in the hunting section but given the configuration, I thought I'd get more input here.

I have a knoxx stock on my camo'd Mossberg 535 and thought it would be nice to get a sling mount for a single or dual point sling. Unfortunately I failed to notice just how short the bolt was.

So with the added thickness of the mount, it was not long enough to reach the receiver.

My fault. I should have been less excited and more circumspect. Off to EE goes the mount.

I considered replacing the bolt but it cannot be removed unless there’s a way to disassemble the stock. I thought of passing a loop through the hole on top of the stock (black hole in the photo) but not sure if this will interfere with the movement as it compresses.

I’m looking at the Mesa Tactical sling loop that is held by a bolt that replaces the trigger pin in the receiver as another option. Has anyone tried this?

The bolt will come out if you tap it to the rear, through the hole, ive done lots!

Hmmm...maybe the previous generation? I tried it but no can do. Notice almost half the head is blocked. Even if it can pop out, how do I get a longer one in though?

there are 3 holes for sling studs on the knoxx stock, why not just use one of those?

True. That's why I'm going to configure it for 2 pt. for when I'm walking. I find having it in front easier as I'm either humping a pack or portable blind on my back. I've read lots on the pros and cons of single pt. so I will have to try that as I use it and see which instances works best for it, if at all.

I'm trying to hook it up as far from the butt end to mitigate the 22" barrel length.

well, another option is to buy a $5 QD swivel cup and drill/tap directly into the side of the aluminum block of the knoxx stock. loctite the screw and you are good to go.

i am looking at the Mesa single point mount that replaces the rear receiver pin, but i am only doing so as a last resort because i have nowhere else to mount a sling mount on my 870 with LEO topfolder. if i had any other option i would take it.
