So I bought recently one of the Kodiak versions of the cz858. After cleaning and running it 2 times at the range it often stops running.

I would fire 3 shots, by the 4th no click of the trigger but the casing has ejected. Ill then have to eject the current ammo and then itll start firing again for another 5 shots for example.

Any suggestions the cause? I am using china surplus 7.62. Could the issue be the ammo slightly jamming or is it more likely the gun itself?

Do a quick search, someone posted a similar issue recently and it was a circlip that had come off of the trigger pin or something along those lines....

What should i be checking on the magazine? They all seem springy lol. Sorry for my ignorance.

Hmmm ill try to find that thread you speak of. Do you recall if that user had the issue always or sometimes? This only happens to me occasionally. Brass ejected, receiver closes, press the trigger and its like the rifle never cocked and no click.

I can't find the other thread, but if you look inside your receiver, look to see that there are two circlips in place holding the pin that goes through the trigger.
I believe the other guy had one clip come off and the pin had shifted and was causing issues?
He mentioned that he called Kodiak Defense and they were very helpful on the phone.
Good luck!

Mine does the exact same thing. Just bought it and haven't been able to fire 5 rounds consecutively out of any of the 4 magazines. Ever.
Fires one, ejects case, loads new round, no fire, no click.
Cleaned and oiled using 2 different ammo brands, no luck.
Will look at this circlip deal as well.

I haven't called Wolverine or Kodiak yet.
Disappointing.

^^^^^^
Have a look and if you can't figure it out give 'em a call, they'll sort you out.

We all feel ya on the disappointment, that would not make for a very fun range day.

Thanks Regan, that youtube video was imformative. I think ill just send it back to Kodiak and mention this gremlin issue to them. I already emailed them and they said it looks like all my parts are in check with the pics I sent them. Frustrating...now i have to cough up money for shipping this beast back.

Im curious how many of us new Kodiak Users are experiencing this.

I also watched the "gremlin" videos.
I'm going to have a close look at mine tonight and try to feed some rounds thru it again and will report back here.

For mine i doubt its the gremlin. My trigger area isnt loose at all. Just gonna send it back to Kodiak. I hope they run some rounds through it. It has no problem currently dry firing.
