I will support Wolverine Supplies by NOT buying the new Kodiak rifle.
Kodiak took the best feature from the WK180C, side charging handle, and eliminated it. They went the wrong direction by trying to fit more AR components, should have gone more 18 and less 15 in my opinion.
The reciprocating charging handle was tearing the guns apart.
But they really should have gone to a non-reciprocating side charger.

Question guys...
I just picked up a WK with the non magnetic side charger. I haven’t sighted it in or shot it yet. I did take it part to clean it.
While disassembling it, I found the charging knob very easy to loosen. Have any of you found it to loosen and come off during a match or with rapid fire?
Obviously Loctiting it is out of the question so wondering if this is an issue for anyone. I would hate to not notice the little knob flying off while shooting.
Kodiak has a procedure for properly torquing them.
Which is?
If they have to be torqued and un-torqued each time after disassembly for maintenance, won’t that eventually wear down the thread?
I got this in an email from Owen Harold @ Kodiak
Hi Paul,
Our spec is to “screw in the handle hand tight then, using a tool inserted through the torque holes, rotate one additional 1/8 turn.”
That said, a drop of Blue Loctite is probably just what the doctor ordered and what I do with mine.
Thanks Paul for the info.
But, either I'm totally dense or I'm not clear. I can't remove the BCG from the upper without unscrewing the charging knob. If we loctite the knob, it would make removing the BCG a real pain each time you want to clean the bolt assembly. Or am I doing this all wrong??
Or does Kodiak recommend not taking out the BCG for cleaning?
Have you ever used blue loc tite? Doesnt sound like it.
As long as you don't use anything stronger than blue loctite doesn't cause any grief. It just works against the vibration loosening the handle. I do exactly as described and the handle stays put and is easy to remove. If they would just stop snapping randomly...
Blue just makes it snug so it doesn't rattle use during use. Barely makes the screw harder to turn at all.I've always used red. I know blue isn't permanent but I assumed it would still be a pain to deal with.
