Hello:

I mounted optics and a flashlight on my very recently purchased WK180C. Before I put it back in the cabinet/safe, I thought I'd test dry firing it (I never did when I bought it via mail order), and since I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, I have really been just storing it and putting accessories on. Dry firing it was fine but then it came time to flick it back to safe, it wouldn't move from the ready position. I pulled charging handle back and dry fired again. Handle is back in the front position. There is no magazine in the rifle. But on either side of the gun, the safety switch doesn't go back to safe. It moves very slightly and then is stuck. Any idea why? I did check out the switch when the gun came in the mail and the switch had no problems moving from safe to ready and vice versa. I apologize in advance if this is an easy fix or if there is something I am missing here.

Bad Karma, thanks very much for that! Yes, that was what I had to do. It came in the forward position and I was able to flick it back and forth before dry firing it, so I would have had no idea otherwise that had to be in rearward position, and would have sent it back to the store for "repair" (oh how embarrassing that would have been). Thanks for the assistance!

Np, when I run transition drills with students I have them load make ready then remove the source of ammunition place it back in their vest. Course of fire usually three or four rounds, they come up with rifle fire, press the trigger a second time (aka dead mans click) transition to pistol finish round count.
I'll walk down the line and if I can move their fire control selector I know they didn't press the trigger the second time (cheating:))
Which usually leads them doing push ups or the leaning rest position while I explain the learning value of the drill LOL

Cheers
BK
