kodiak wk180c do I buy

They're good rifles for the price point. You'd be hard pressed to find another black rifle around that price that doesn't have issues of its own. I managed to get one from the earlier runs, with the magnetic charging handle. I've shot the sh*t outta it and I haven't had any issues.

I used to praise the wk 180 and always recommended it to others, not anymore however
Had to send my rifle back for inspection/repairs last September and dealing with their warranty CS has been atrocious
They’ve literally stolen my rifle, I don’t know how many times I’ve e mailed and a nice CGN member even gave me Owens private contact and I’ve gotten nowhere
Every time they do answer my e mail they want the RMA number and when I give it to them I hear nothing again for weeks on end
I haven’t actually called them on the phone yet but am planning to shortly and they are gonna get an absolute earful from me
As far as I’m concerned they can keep that pos and shove it sideways up their backsides
Anyone thinking of getting one of these DO NOT GET ONE!
Get an msr or wait for the one IRG is bringing in

Maybe you should have given them a call from the get-go and saved yourself some anger, lol.

It takes less than 2 seconds to make a phone call but you've spent 3 months building yourself into a rage then splurged it out onto a forum.

If we look at your post history I'm pretty sure we'll find you've had the time to make a lot of posts but not make a phone call.

Get a grip, make the call and be polite.

I'm pretty sure you bawling down the phone won't be a motivator for them.

Ps. If you're serious about not wanting the rifle you can give it to the OP. Or was that just another toy out the pram?

The rifle I sent back was an earlier one serial no 108 to be exact
I do like the magnetic charge handle better then the screw in type, the reciever on it wasn’t marked up or anything either
If I had known dealing with kodiak was gonna be a $hitshow I wouldn’t have sent it to them and got a gunsmith to try to fix it instead :(

If they won’t answer an e mail then why have one to begin with?
That doesn’t show very good CS in my opinion
For the record I have been polite in all the e mails that I did send them but there comes a point where being polite just isn’t going to cut it anymore

watched the video...hmmmm,,,, roll pin in the bolt on the MCR,....safety in the wrong pace for proper function....stock falling apart....
your right...both have their gremlins.

I like the Metal side plates in the MCR. brass sleeve instead of Nylon.

wow...hard to decide.

I really miss the days of the $599 Norinco AR that you could hammer the day lights out of and it just kept going...& going

Lol Yeah no kidding.
I bought a CQ311 couple years ago and literally tried to break it.
Acetoned the bolt assy and ran it bone dry and put like 200 rounds through it in less than 7 mins
Dropped it from chest heigt on its sides, stock and flat onto the face of the muzzle.
Flung it around on gravelly dirt road by a rope lol
I even threw it in the berm at the end of it all and hit it with 2 12ga no7 bird shot shells at 25 meters hahaha

Cleaned it up, oiled it and she kept going just the same.

They weren't pretty but god damn those ChiComm ARs were built to go the distance...

OMG...thats funny RIGHT THERE you made my evening thank you LOL

They are accurate. Now that multiple companies are producing rifles like this, there will be parts for your rifle. so if the charging handle or piston do break, you should be able to find parts. These are not mil spec rifles, they will not last 10000 rounds without maintenance.

well....my field report.....

The weight of the 180 seems to absorb the recoil nicely.. feels heavier then a Nork AR
the trigger felt ok.....kinda a lot of travel, not gritty, but when your shooting fast you dont notice it.
He had an aftermarket shell deflector on.....so flying brass wasnt an issue.
the pistol grip was cheap But effective. good placement.
The stock has to GO ! kinda wiggly, but useable.

in all..it reminds a lot of a keltec SU 16 only front heavier. The keltec was a faster shooting riffle....shorter trigger rest.
Tried it at 50 and 100yards. Using cheap federal ammo ..it was as good as any 223 I think.

It functioned fine. Loading mags easy. they dropped out easy to.
No jams no stove pipes no ejection issues.

Yea...same here. $1249 and usually when you call...there out.
Its a lot to pay. Im cringing at the thought.

do I really need this rifle ?
will it go Pro- hib in a few months,? and then I will be left with MORE closet Queens....shhheeeesh

$1200 bucks for a rifle I cant shoot would really pi55 me off !!!

I'll wager we will soon look back at today thinking this was a ridiculously low price. Not unlike the $200 SKS and $600 AR that were available everywhere not even a year ago.

Same for me. Almost twice what I paid for an actual AR. But that's pretty much all you can have for that kind of money in .223/5.56.

Of course you don't. But you want it :)

Likely scenario. However, contrary to other closet queens, you might want to let it sit in the safe even if there's a "buy back" or confiscation of some sort. One of the perks of NR firearms.

The trend will continue and things will get worse. Until the CCFR or others can fix this mess in courts, a majority Liberal government is objectively possible in the meantime (Trudeau is under-promising and over-delivering on purpose), so expect ammo to disappear from the shelves, more guns arbitrarily added to the prohib list because even flintlock muskets will be considered variants of full-clipatic AR-47s, and much less fun overall.

My point is: if you like the rifle, get it while you still can.

That's pretty much my arguments in favour of getting one anyway.
