Kodiak WK181c Gen 2 finally got one

I haven't actually shot mine yet - just cycled some dummy rounds through to make sure everything feeds properly. It seems to be pretty well built; no obvious problems beyond some machining marks. I bought it in hopes that the T81 mags would function in it and actuate the last-round BHO feature; as it turns out, the T81 mags lock in place just fine, but they don't engage the BHO feature. Bummer. With that in mind, I haven't decided yet whether to keep it or not. The only other thing I'm not fond of is the large opening along the charging handle channel. If I keep it, I think i'll buy one of the TNA extended charging handles to cover this in, and I may see if I can source one of the older WK180 Gen 1 short handguards... I just think they looked better.

As set up, it's well balanced and reasonably light - Millet DMS-1 gen 1 optic on an older ADM QD mount and an ACE ARFX stock. Hopefully I'll have time to run some rounds through it in May or June.

Out of all the options for a shell deflector presented here, I think I like the foam frog the best.

Frog is best bro...

Has any one come up with a folding stock solution for these rifles yet? I looked at the LAW but it seems too long a pricey. I also played around with MDT carbine to carbie folding piece but it didn't work.

What didn't work with the MDT carbine to carbine folder? They work fine on MCRs, gen 1 WKs and Sentinels (and really anything that takes a buffer tube).

KNS 1913 adapter w/o flange+ MI Extruded stock, folds right behind the charging handle knob

it doesn't use a buffer system, it doesn't need a buffer tube

Boom!
This is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for posting. Do you have any pics of your set up?

OP, Not trying to hijack your thread.

If you have a good amount of funds, the Shooting Edge or Red Deer Shooting Center may be able to order in Midway's new 1913 folding Alpha AK stock, with adjustable length of pull and comb height. It looks like they "borrowed" the design straight from Zenico :)

i'd be concerned that the TNA extended charging handle would whack your rear sling swivel - they don't accordion and travel quite a ways back. i've got a galil ace dust cover on the ee that i bought to try and fit to a wk180 that might work for you (receivers are slightly different).

Very valid point. I actually just sold this rifle, but the sling swivel is reversible to the other side. My plan had been to switch it if the extended charging handle caused an issue.

What's the suggested magazine source/supply for these?
I found that the plastic ( Troy/Magpul ) mags wouldn’t quite lock in.
I could wiggle them back out.
Steel mags that I got from Marstar works great , as do the LAR mags.

The issues I was having was I was also trying to add a QD sling plate and it was causing a few issues. Your comment made me feel foolish so I had another go at it with out the sling plate and it has worked out great so far, actually I am quite pleased with it.

I managed to see it. Pretty slick setup. I an pretty pleased with the MDT folder I put on there but I will probably try and pick up one of the 1913 adapters you mentioned as well.

MI Extruded stock may be long for some user, if I can try other 1913 options,
I'd like to try Strike Industry's, which is shorter, and available in two-way folding option
