There is no denying the heroism of the Russian people in defending their homeland. There is also no denying the brutality and duplicity of the Russian LEADERS over the last 500 years or so.

Their contribution to World War Two would have been a QUARTER of what it turned out to be if they had just hanged Stalin and put the NKVD into the FRONT ranks.... for a change. Ten million killed out of a total population of 130 million is SEVEN percent of the total population. Figures like that have not been seen since the Punic Wars.

That their casualties were as LOW as they turned out must be, at least in part, to the credit of the USA which supplied them with all those trucks..... and Henry Ford for selling them (cheap) the entire German Ford factory (the GAZ cars and trucks were basically Model A Fords).... and Hercules and DuPont for building all those powder mills in the 1920s and 1930s..... and a few thound other little things.

I'm gonna get flamed for sure now.

Which leads to the next question: When the Russians invaded Poland from the East in September, 1939, were they heroes, zeroes or Nazi Supporters?
How do the Russian's portray this in their "History Book of Lies" prior to the Great Patriotic War?
Not to mention the Russian invasion of Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bombing Sweden.....
Russia didn't join the Allies until June 22 1941. Operation Barbarossa. Now the ball is in Russia's court, much like when Russia invaded Poland! Must feel good for them to be in the same situation-being invaded by Germans!

The Russian double-crosser got double-crossed by their German friend Adolph, who made cannon-fodder of them.

Not sure where you got these numbers from.. Official numbers are around 25 million dead (for total of military + civilian deaths). Some unofficial numbers go as high as high as 40 mil.
 
Its hard to get exact numbers from a war that happened so long ago. Not to mention each country likes to smudge the numbers to protect their ego.

It's only four times as horrific.

For three-quarters of them, you can blame Comrades Dzhugashvili, Beria, Kaganovich and Khrushchev and all their little NKVD friends.

Adolf merely supplied the bullets: Stalin killed them through a combination of paranoia, brutality, sheer viciousness, stupidity and incompetence.

One of the most powerful nations in the world was held hostage by the NKVD gangsters in the service of a madman who was ruling with that famous iron fist "for the people". And the NKVD was EVERYWHERE. They even had operatives in EDMONTON when I was little; our next-door neighbour was terrified of them. Say too much and you disappeared.

Do not forget their material and training involvement in the Vietnam War as well.

Back in the late 1980's, my local newspaper featured a small article stating that China had admitted having some 350,000 troops assisting the North Vietnamese, of which "a few thousand" were killed--supposedly all in the North as a result of US air activity.(BS)

My fathers' unit had it's commander, as well as its US advisor shot by a sniper who had documents (in Chinese) on him when they searched his body. This was all passed onto military inteligence and nothing was ever heard of it again.
 
The Soviets had to use everyone to fight the Germans, their very existence was at stake. They suffered massive losses partly due to the fact surrender was not an option and their leaders did not care if they lost 500,000 soldiers if they could kill 50,000 Nazis. The Canadians, Americans and British did not face this reality.
Without US involvement the Germans would have been a lot harder to defeat. Without the British holding out throughout the blitz and fending off a German invasion the Allies would not have had England as a stepping stone to invade Europe. Keeping the UK supplied and fed was Canada's role.
Each country in WWII did their part in proportion to their population. If Canada had a similar population to Germany we could have kicked their ass by ourselves;)
As for the earlier pages and who settled North America first...Europeans settled NA first approximately 15000 years ago. DNA does support that theory. 25% of North American aboriginal mitochondrial DNA is European.
One thing`s for sure though. The US kept the free world free for 40+ years from communism. Reagan made them overspend to keep up and he ruined them.
