Called up 'Korth' to enquire about getting replacement matte 'tall target turret caps' for my VXIII 'tac', they took down my mailing info and said they are on the way......Am I a nice guy or did they forget to ask me for money
leupold service is that good!

And on the opposite end of the spectrum is service [or lack of] from Bushnell. Absolutly no comparison.

If Bushnell only had to do warranty work on 3200 and 4200 units their repair time would be much faster.
But the whole line carries the same warranty, as well as binoculars. You might say that they have a lot more product to deal with on a daily basis. FS
Now I can understand that you may not know who is authorized or not but you can call us and ask and we will be happy to tell you. We may also put out an authorized Canadian dealer list in the near future. A little hint is if you buy it out of a basement or garage, it may be an unauthorized dealer, who is contributing to the loss of a lot of good long time gun stores.
We pride ourselves on providing good service.
We pride ourselves on providing good service. That is what happens when a good product is distributed by a reputable firm and distributed to authorized dealers. Buyng from authorized dealers insures we stay in business to provide you good service. The service isn't as good for scopes not bought within the "system". If you buy from unauthorized dealers you are jeopardizing your warranty in Canada, as well you are contributing to the decline in dealers who are and have been in this bussiness for a lot of years. These people are in it for the long haul and yes they may be a few bucks higher than the guy who has no store and works out of his basement, but how long is he going to be there to provide you with a service?
I had a call from a nice gentleman from Saskatchewan today asking if I provided warranty on Leupold scopes bought from an unauthorized dealer. When all was said and done he was saving less than 10% and would not be getting warranty. This means having to get a permit to send the scope back to the U.S. and that would take time and money as we all know. I think he decided it wasn't worth saving a few bucks. We can check a serial number at any time and see whether or not it was distributed by us in Canada.
There is a special on certain scopes that you will get a free engraving. If you buy it outside of the "system" and then expect a free engraving, does that really seem fair?

What are we as shooters going to do when they are all gone?
tony, i have had good service from korth agencies before, but correct me if i am wrong ( leupold does not say anything about warranty if you buy from an unauthorized dealer or distributor in their warranty agreement). in fact they state that if you buy it second hand or third it still has a warranty even without a card! are you saying that anyone that purchased a leupold scope and it hasnt gone threw your hands, that it has no warranty?
please clarify this.
she said as long as the scope was genuine Leupold the warranty is covered regardless how many times it has changed hands. That is the kind of confidence in a product that is nice to see.
They are great folks.
