Depending where you live 1 to 2 weeks. With the increase in engraving I am saying 2 weeks. The engraving works out best if I let a few pile up and do them all at one time, same goes for the repair.
"I had a call from a nice gentleman from Saskatchewan today asking if I provided warranty on Leupold scopes bought from an unauthorized dealer. When all was said and done he was saving less than 10% and would not be getting warranty. This means having to get a permit to send the scope back to the U.S. and that would take time and money as we all know. I think he decided it wasn't worth saving a few bucks. We can check a serial number at any time and see whether or not it was distributed by us in Canada.

I bought a rifle in the US. It was a package deal from the factory with a VX-I 3-9X40mm Leupold on it. I imported it legally with an IIC and the permit from the US State using a known exporter. This thread got me thinking so I called Leupold in Oregon and they assured me that the scope would be covered for any warranty issues. I can see the point in trying to protect the business of Korth, however, there are lots of scopes in the country that are being legally imported. Also, not to 'poke the nest' but why are leupolds so much more money here in Canada? Are retailers marking them up that much more than in the US or is it at the distribution level? It seems to me that , if the pricing was competitive, that would solve the import issue. There is likely a good reason, I'm just curious as to what it might be?

I've never had to send a Bushnell scope back for warranty but my buddy had one fog up on him and you could not see through it. He bought it in 1972 and I told him it was time for a new scope. He sent it back to Bushnell (he is a bit cheap) and they repaired it and sent it back free of charge! It looks as good as a new scope now. This sure surprised me.

Funny, I had the exact same thing happen with a BUSHNELL scope, only it was my fault I lost one of the caps on a scope.
They sent me 2 pairs no charge!

Regardles I have had good experience sending a scope back as well.
Discontinued model, and they sent me a brand new one from the new series with a turn around of a couple months. The only reason it took so long was they were waiting on the launch of the new Trophy series, which I got before most of Canada.
I have a Leupold VXII, and a Bushnell 3200 on my 2 go to rifles, and don't worry about either.
In the end:
Seems Korth is bent on making it increasingly difficult for consumers to buy Leupold products.
HINT, I haven't bought a scope or rifle in last 5 years by walking into a bricks and mortar store so I can't tell you where the products I buy are shipped from. And if you look to the top of this page half of the CGN sponsors likely operate out of their basement, garage, or house...
