Narrowed it down to these two and found both for practically the same price. With all my research I’m leaning towards the Kowa but now I'm curious about the warranty on them. Has anyone had to use Kowa’s warranty? How did it go?

I’ve heard the warranty on Swarovskis is really good, is that true?

Never had a warranty issue with my spotters, so can't answer that one.

Have used the swaro spotters and then moved over to the kowa. On my third model now. Had a 72 and felt I needed to upgrade to the 88. Then after a few years started to walk more, so decided to upgrade to the new 66, as it is smaller and fit my needs better.

I just found the kowa to be a bit sharper for my eyes and how I used it.

Iv had to send back my Swarovski ATS eye piece and my EL’s for warranty. The ATS eye piece was just before sheep season, I contacted Swarovski and they put a rush on it for me, was a good taste of great customer service.

Both have excellent glass. Remember kowa warranty is not transferable, so if you tried to sell it.The new owner will not have warranty on it and will make resale harder

This has actually been discussed on many forums for many years - the warranty is in fact transferable - they just state in their documents that it pertains to original owner - but in practise, the warranty follows the product. This directly FROM Kowa... "This is Jeff with Kowa Sporting Optics. Short & simple, at Kowa we back our products, so warranty is not limited to the original owner. Warranty stays with the product even if resold. Hopefully that clarifies things, feel free to reach out to Kowa if you have any questions."

Also, important to purchase from a reputable dealer - we have been KOWA dealers for years, and we have an incredibly close relationship with KOWA.

Just thought to clarify.

Cheers

I actually emailed Kowa last week asking about the warranty on buying used Kowa scopes and received this reply.

“Thank you for your email!

The warranty does transfer. Once received, just pop over to the link below and register it in our system:
