Kral Shotguns

There pumps are cheaply made. Tend to bind n jam and hit swallow on the primers. No experience with there o/u tho

When they "swallow" the Primers where do they go? Are they excreted out of the butt plate?

Soft aluminum receiver, soft steel internals, I've never owned any of the Turkish guns, but I've seen them break down. You would be much better off with a good cond. used Citori or some such.IMHO

I bought a Kral, and am really sorry I did. Doesn't hit the primers hard enough. So I replaced the hammer spring, and it started to jam... just a hassle.

What model did you buy Goettel? I understand that the pumps and the semis may be less than superb, based on the responses so far, but if yours is an O/U and you've had problems, then I am looking elsewhere for an inexpensive O/U.

Okay, so I bought the O/U and it seems fine. A bit stiff, but I expect this is just a break-in issue. The bluing is not very well done, but overall the gun looks reasonably well built. I won't be afraid to take it out in inclement weather or to scratch it up. It's a disposable gun, but I rather like it at this point..I shot a few rounds on the weekend and the primers are looking fairly well smacked, so I surmise the problematic guns (insufficient firing pin energy) may be the pumps and/or the semis. So, who else has the Kral O/U?

I got mine from marstar when they imported them 3-4 year ago. So far mine have no problem and I love it.

For the price I pay I have what I expected.

Can't speak for the Kral but I bought a Turkish Traditions-beautiful looking and handling gun but as Ben H says soft metal in the action parts wore out in less that 500 rounds-no parts available, overall a piece of junk!

I guess it depends on what you use it for. I do a little partridge hunting in fall in Central ON and my gun will probably only ever get a few hundred rounds through it. Either way, I'm not worried. I expect I'll be leaving in in my will...

How many rounds through yours now Fleury? Also, I've noticed I need to physically hold the action fully open to remove the lower spent shell (it tends to spring partially closed preventing this otherwise). I may have to 'have a look at it'.

hahaha same whit mine!!! The spring in there is too strong it might get loose one day.. as you might see I am not woried, I just regret I didn't buy the auto ejecting model for 25$ more :( I think it's just bad engeinering.

I might have fired 75 shot whit it no problem, must of them where cheap bulk winchester.

I came very close to buying the autoloader, but I think the O/U is the way to go with the Krals. Based on what I have seen on this site, and other reviews, I think the pumps and the semis may be the ones that have some issues. I always wanted a nice over/under and I am very pleased with mine so far. I have decided to 'smith' mine so the action does not try to spring back as we have both discovered. I don't think it's a spring issue, but rather a length of cocking piece issue. I'm sure it will be easy to 'fix'. I will have to bear in mind that replacement parts do not seem to be available however...

BTW I got mine at Vankleek Hill too (for $395 plus the case) in their 'clearance' section.
