Hey guys,

new to the M14 game but love it! Thanks for all of the threads above for info on this platform.

Krieger still has stock of their 18.5" medium bush barrels. They are supposed to be pretty awesome barrels. A Krieger rep left me a message confirming that they have them in their inventory.

Im just finalizing the order through Jerry at Mystic Precision. Giving people the heads up in case you want to upgrade your stock barrel.

Keep the posts coming! they are fantastic!

Still working out final payment with Jerry at Mystic. Probably around $500 and change. Im getting mine short chambered and crowned. So unikely that mine will come threaded. Ill get it threaded after. I would rather have the crown. You can order it unchambered though for cheaper and whether or not they come threaded best to call Krieger and ask them. Check out their special runs and close outs section.

I've installed a great many krieger M14 barrels in the last year or so.
In my experience, they come short chambered and require the CLYMER 852 PULL THROUGH finish reamer (brownells) and have the same gas assemnly and flash hider mounting detail as any other M14 barrel, except the threads for gas lock and castlenut are USGI(M1A) spec.

These are simply exceptional barrels.
If anyone is ordering and requires experienced, professional install services, email me. I am fully set up with the correct tools, guages and reamers.
In most cases all you need to swap out is the barrel, gas lock and castlenut as your chinese cylinder, flash hider and oprod guide will fit. The chamber is cut using your existing bolt to desired headspace.

What would you charge for labour and all the necessary parts in USGI specs?

My basic install rate is 195.00
This includes removal of chinese barrel and it's subsequent barrel mounted parts.
Install new barrel to index
Finish ream chamber to customers specs
Install oprod guide to barrel.

I do not stock inventory of usgi spec gas locks and castlenuts right now but will once the McGowen M14 barrels start arriving in the new year

I plan on getting into something like this, they're stainless correct?

Once you order them, don't you have to get the gas system front iron sight mod as well? Or do you just thread the barrel so that it takes your old flash hider?

I'm thinking once I start losing accuracy in my Chinese barrel I'll make the switch. I have 2700 bullets at home waiting to load up, so I figure that my barrel will be shot out in the next 2 years

The 18.5" medium krieger barrels are generally chromoly and occasionally they run them in stainless. The 22" DMR barrel's are stainless, as are the heavy barrels.
All accept any standard M14 M1A muzzle device including the smith enterprise direct connect type. You can even use a standard chinese flash hider, you just need a USGI or M1A castlenut. These are finished barrels other than correcting the oprod guide diameter to suit the oprod guide you are installing and finish reaming the chamber. The heavy barrels come with a proprietory oprod guide.
