Hi

I found one of those inserts for my 16 guage but the tool that drives the device to set inside the barrel is missing. I see it’s a square recepticle in there with a narrow fit along side a roller.

Does anybody have the Krieghoff insert that could provide the measurements of the tool end ?

It’s for one of the 16 guage barrels in a drilling triple barrel. West Germany.

I have one of these. Contact Krieghoff USA via email. They will likely sell you one. I got a fresh set of screws and the sliders from them. Cheap and easy. They just mailed them to me.

FYI the tool you seek looks like a key used to open a can of oysters. I bet you could file one to make it work. It is a square drive.

I'm pretty sure a Roberston screwdriver bit will fit. But you'd have to be careful not to torque it too much. The original wrench is spring steel that "gives" when you crank it enough. I have two of the Krieghoff rimfire adapters, one 16 ga and one 12 ga. I'll check measurements tomorrow.

I do hope the insert is for .22 LR because it's been decades since I've seen any longs for sale. Not that you couldn't shoot shorts in it, just not ideally. It's BTW easy to see the advantages of having such an insert in a double barrel in a survival hunting situation, sort of an emergency drilling gun.
