A Canadian version of the Noveske Krinkov Flash Hider... for $90 lonnies!
You got my attention :D

Mike.

I have a the first Gen. Noveske Krink and I don't think it is do-able for $90.00 Cdn. After machining/milling costs, etc, I think a realisitic price would be around the $200.00 Cdn mark.Which gets it real close to the price of a actual Noveske unit up here.

Also Stainless steel doesn't work that well for the inner cone.Noveske learned this after reports can back in.

SKBY.

SkullBoy do you have pictures of Your Krink apart??if so could you post them or PM them to me??

and what is the cone made of??My gunsmith makes Drill bits for the mines here and what ever they are making them out of may be the hard use steel we need..

for us non fullauto 5 rd Canadians it may take a while to blow one out....

I am thinking like this

krink.jpg

the threads are inside it to keep it short and it is only two pieces can/and cone

I wonder if it could be made in one piece. Would just require a steel rod threaded at one end and "counter sunk" at the other. I always wondered why they didn't make it in one piece. All you'd need is a custom bit made to bore out the cone end. I'm no machinist, anyone know why this can't be done?

The Krink is not just a cone flaring out from the muzzle.

I know I've just got one (not sure if I'm going to use it though). Fundamentally it is a cone, I just don't see the need for all the pieces, I'm sure there is one, I just don't know it.

I know what your saying the Krink is far from a new idea AA guns have had it for ever....

it was just a cone threaded on to the muzzle to keep the AA crew for getting thumped....

I will make one in two Pieces I just want the overall length, and outside Diameter

it will be one can with impact device,on cone(with a lock ring)

While this would not be completely Canadian made, how about this;

Take cheap Bulgarian Krink brake and weld on 1/2 28 thread adapter.

This is exactly how Noveske started out with his brakes. They are no longer listed on his site, but you'll notice that his old style krink says U.S made as he use to offer Bulgarian conversions and made in the good ol' U.S. of A new versions for those "only buy American" types.

If I'm not mistaken, someone in Canada might be doing this already. I think Valley Gunsmithing lists Krink brakes on their site.

The inside cone openning does not touch the barrel, some gas gets trapped in the space behind the cone which is inside the unit.

There really are only 4 pieces:
1. the Body itself (with the thread adapter welded on)
2. the cone
3. the cap that threads onto the body and keeps the cone in place
4. a coil that keeps the cap from unthreading itself

the coil makes it so you can easily remove the cap while having it very secure (will not unthread itself)
The cone has a lip in it's widest part and this seats it in the body, and then the cap holds it in place.

It works very well for reducing side shock waves

Edited to add, reference for my post:

Is this vendor not cheap enough?

not bad.....not bad...how easy would it be to have that stuck or taken at the US border??

If you are going to make one, make a dozen. The extra 11 only cost you material and machine time, the set-up is already done.
That way you can spread the love.
