Kriss Vector or Tavor

Buddy of mine trying to convince me to get the T97NSR & that 1911 i been wanting for the same price of the Tavor,
Im a firm believer of you get what u pay so im not to heated on the T97

Just picked up a new Tavor myself. Very pleased with the ease of disassembly...flipped it over as I'm left handed. Can't wait to shoot it.

never owned either of these so I cant really offer much but I have noticed A LOT of kriss rifles in the EE. what does that tell you?

Never trust a person who hasn't owned both... trust a person even less if they havent owned either.

Ive owned more than one of each and I do agree that the Tavor is a better gun all round, its also about $1000 more than the Kriss. My Kriss was surprisingly accurate out to 100 yards, was VERY easy to carry and shouldered very well. The stock gets a bit loose after a while but its not flimsy or weak and its more of an annoyance than anything. The Kriss is EXTREMELY easy to clean... which is good if your picky like me and the internals are super simple... more so than the Tavor IMO... alot less moving parts once you get them all stripped down.

What I didnt like about the Kriss was the strange recoil. It just feels weird and it got annoying after a while. It seems like a small point but it doesnt recoil like either a rifle round or even a pistol calibre carbine of standard design. It kind of shakes or knocks and I found it threw my eyes off on follow up shots. Recoil was VERY minimal but I just couldn't get used to it. I also agree the NR barrel looks weird but there are things you can do to fix that:

The Tavor is just an awesome gun, plain and simple. Its expensive but its worth every penny and does not disappoint in any way. After removing the secondary trigger spring I became very good with that gun, loved how it shouldered, loved how it shot, it was relatively easy to do a basic cleaning, optics mounting was easy, super easy to carry... but not light. Its a surprisingly heavy beast. If money is no issue, the Tavor is, IMO, one of the best guns you can buy. It just does so many things so well AND it looks and feels cool. Which is a bonus.

If your looking to save a bit of money the T97 is a surprisingly good gun for the money. With the factory carry handle its just useless if you want to mount an optic but if you aren't afraid to install the T97.ca flat top upper the gun becomes infinitely more useable and the ergonomics are actually great. For a competition gun the mag release is a pain, but for a bush gun where your not concerned about the worlds fastest mag changes its completely fine and wont be a problem. The gun is robust and feels like a quality piece, not cheap at all. Its easy to disassemble and clean and its fairly light, though not as light as a typical DI AR... lighter than the Tavor though. I no longer own a Tavor simply because I had so much money tied up in one gun, I just couldn't justify it. But I missed having a bull pup so I bought a T97 with the FTU and am extremely happy with it. Other than being able to say I own a Tavor, I don't feel I'm missing out on much at all. Seriously consider it, purists who hate and talk about about norinco in general will say you get what you pay for and to stay away. But those of us who have owned and shot them all and have no real concern about the name on the side know the T97 is a great gun and when it comes to bull pups, your getting more than you pay for with a T97

Damnnnn exactly what i wanted to hear, thank you & yes if i get a T97 i will be getting the T97.ca.
Had one & felt good but traded it for a Brand new G20 $500 so i did good considering i paid $950 for the T97

I've owned two Tavors and currently own a restricted Vector. Since I'm a range-only guy (no crown land shooting in NS without a hunting license) I like the Vector as a fun gun better than the Tavor (more thoughts on the Vector here). Comparing non-restricted versions, though, I'd probably go for the Tavor.

I owned a non restricted vector and while its cool it expensive to shoot but the tavor I would guess any bullpup but I have only shot a tavor, but I seemed to get a lot of powder spray near my face as the shells extracted I didn't like it too much its definitely a gun to wear glasses with at the very least, but its way cheaper to shoot but costs way more so you have some options to way out for sure

I was going to buy a KRISS, then I started to research it, and its HUGE claim to fame and why it gained such massive notoriety (And its decently hefty price tag) Is because when it comes to the .45 cal, there are not many guns out there that even come close to its low amount of recoil... When in full auto mode :D If we were allowed full autos, they would be AMAZING guns, being that they are not full auto, and the ammo is expensive, I opted out of it.

I am not saying they are not great guns, but the main thing that makes them so amazing is the rate of fire to muzzle rise/felt recoil ratio, when that amazing high rate of fire gets knocked out of the picture (TO ME) They just dont seem worth it.

The fake can on Kriss Vector throws me off... Can't stand fake junk on firearms. The action is innovative though. Tavor will have the advantage of the .223/5.56 round over the .45ACP. If you're like me you'll own them both one day anyways... I like them both.

i watched hickock 45 review the kriss and i could not believe how much wobble that stock had maybe it was just his but there was way too much play

since when has hicock done reviews? You call him standing their shooting and laughing, then talking about it for 5 minutes a review? (Not to mention the companies often send him the stuff to borrow or to keep for free, which is why i think he doesn't really review anything)

I have both (Tavor and R Kriss)

I love them both but for different reasons.

The Kriss is my favourite range toy. Accurate, no recoil and the first timers I bring out really flock to it.

The Tavor is.....well a Tavor, nuff said.
