Hey nutz, I had the chance to shoot the NR Vector recently and really enjoyed the way it handled. I actually really liked the layout of the controls on it and just in general liked the way it was put together, not to mention I love the thinking behind the design.
However I only got to put a couple mags through it and it was at really close range as it was primary pistols that night, ~10 yards or so.

I know there's a good number of KRISS owners in this forum and i'm assuming you've all had a chance to shoot your babies.

So my question is- how does the Vector perform out at 50+ yards? I'm very seriously considering it as a purchase and there's a great deal I like quite a bit about it but the accuracy reports i've been able to find are just absolutely, totally horrendous.
In some cases comically so. They seem to do fine out to 25 or so and after that proceed to #### the bed and roll around in it.

Those owners i've seen asked point blank what sort of groups there vectors are shooting tend to mumble "something something not designed for range" but that's hardly an appropriate response especially when you consider there are a great deal of pistol caliber carbines out there are capable out at 50/100 yards, and even beyond. Heck even benched 1911's are in general looking like downright snipers next to some of the truly mediocre results i've seen reported from the Vector (almost unrepeatable so) and there's really no excuse for that out of a firearm in the price point of the vector.

So, how about it?
So ITT (hopefully);

-measured groupings at 50 yards?
-measured groups at 100 yards?
-general shooting experience
-if none of the above are available could I somehow coerce you into doing so data gathering next time you hit the range, for the good of the CGN community?

Despite how much I might like everything else about the gun, if I can't take it out to a good 50 yards or so and get something resembling accuracy color me no longer interested.
(incidentally the thureon defence carbines in all calibers seem to be real winners out at farther distances from every review managed to get my large clammy hands on, they're fast starting to look better and better)

Thanks,
-Goose

i dont have the NR version but I was at the range today with my little 5.5" kriss. here is a rough idea of what it did (with Norinco ammo and an Eotech 512). at 25yds, bang on all shots were in the centre ring 2-3" from a standing position. I moved back out to 50yds and i noticed the accuracy begin to fail a little BUT they were still in the 6-8" range (with norc ammo, a red dot sight, short barrel and prone position). after that i set up some 5 tim hortons cups filled with snow and set them up in a row and hit them with 5 shots from 30yds. in total about 140rnds for the day through the kriss.

i know its not much of a range report. i just saw this thread now, if i would have seen it earlier i would have taken pictures and done actual group measurements and such. maybe next time if someone else doesnt beat me to it. having said that i dont see why the longer barrel model wouldn't produce better results.

hope this helps,
Steve

My nr vector will do 4" groups at 50yds with umc 230gr and the factory flip up sights and will drop that down to around 3" with one of my handloads.
I was ringing the gong (about 12") at 200 the other day 2 or 3 out of 10 shots once I figured out where to aim. If my eyes were better it might have been able to do better.
Accuracy is good enough for me and will probably get better as I figure out a load it likes.

While all the Vector owners are scrambling around here regardling the FRT number being pulled...
Bump? :D

Right now i'm sitting on a pile of money that's either going into a Vector or a XCR (at this point at least).
I like them both for different reasons and they'd be used for slightly different things, but an absolute must for me right now is to get a good idea of what the KRISS will do at range. Any and all range experiences with the Vector are appreciated! General impressions and experiences also very welcome.

I have a non-restricted Vector, went out with it once so far. Only shot close range, but at 10-15 meters all holes touch, from standing position.

This Saturday I'll be testing it out at longer ranges, I will provide a detailed accuracy report then.

I was shooting clay pigeons at roughly 60 yards last week with my 5.5" Kriss. I had no problems hitting them. I am not much for group shooting, I prefer to shoot steel, but even so when I zeroed it at 25m my groupings were 1.5" roughly.

Please do, i'll be eagerly awaiting it!
