For anyone with a Vector or anyone who wants a Vector I found a fantastic light for it. This will save you a pile of money over the Surefire and requires no adaptor.
I found it on eBay and it is a PowerTac Cadet. It is a 300 Lumen Cree XPG R5 bulb, uses a single 123 battery, is made in the USA, and fits perfectly into the hole left by removing the plug. I also ordered the remote switch to go with it and it came out to under $100 delivered. The only thing is that the pressure switch is a little too thick to fit through the vent slots in the upper and I had to use the dremel to open one of them up a little, and you will need a slightly longer screw to replace the one that holds in the plug which I found in my bolt supply for my RC nitro monster trucks. It is a tight fit but works great and looks factory.
I'll try to get a photo or two up soon.


So far the biggest fail I have found with my Vector is sling options.
What have the rest of you been doing?
The only options I can come up with is to buy a rail mounted sling point or replace a takedown pin with one of those pins that has a sling swivel and a thread on backing so it doesn't pull out but I can't find one of those to buy anywhere.

Any ideas?
 
I was under the impression that the adapter from KRISS was needed, but if not, this is great. I'd be interested to see some pictures, and thanks for the heads up!
 
The cadet I found seems too long and takes two aa batteries? You sure it was the cadet model?

I removed the plug and then measured all dimensions and then just surfed tactical flashlights on eBay till I found this one that had the dimensions posted with the ad. Luckily it fit perfectly.
At the rear of the area where the light goes there is a block on the lower that goes up into the upper and it pushes on the wire coming out of the light but it seems to be minor and everything goes together nicely.
To keep the wire nice and tight to the outside of the gun I used electrical tape going around the wire then sticking the two flaps of tape together and pinching it between the upper and lower during assembly (was done after these pics so it's not shown).

There must be more than one model. This one is single CR123 battery.

P.S. You need to order the pressure switch seperately.
 
Kriss Sling Setup

Here's what I did for my Kriss sling setup: Gear Sector QD swivel in the front, Gear Sector 1" loop at the back and an Urban-ERT 2-point sling. I tried the push-pin thing on the stock and replacing some of the other pins, but it didn't hang right and ended up interfering with the controls.

I was thinking of trying the Magpul one that attaches to the rail and has the loop off to the side and trying it with a single point sling.
I have one similar to your front mount but didn't like the way it worked at the rear with the single point.

You don't have any trouble with the rear sight so far forward?

Yes, the Magpul RSA would work, too - although it protrudes a bit and wouldn't lay flat. I found the QD mount worked better because it gives it a pivot point. Nope - rear sight works fine; I mean, it's only been moved forward maybe 1-1.5" (I still get co-witness with my EOTech).
 
Kriss should have done a better job in the sling option department.
Not bad though since it is so far my only complaint about the gun.

I'll try my QD behind the rear sight and see if it is better that way. I was thinking that having the rear peep further away would cause problems with sight picture.

I agree, although hindsight is always 20-20. The problem is that the charging handle precludes the installation/use of a rail on the left side (and any subsequent sling options). And even though there's a sling loop on the collapsible stock, utilizing it precludes the ability to fold it. If you want to run a single point setup, the best option is probably a Magpul RSA installed just in front of the rear BUIS.

The RSA will be my next experiment with the single point. I'd like to figure out a good system so I can throw it over my back and go out on my quad with it but I don't think a single point is the way to go in that scenario.

I modified a short rail to mount on the side but like you say it can only really be used on the right side which doesn't work great for me with a sling. Maybe for a LASER :) Every firearm needs a LASER.

No - I think you'd probably want a 2-point. Some people have also apparently just used two RSA mounts. I didn't want the mount sticking out or the sling interfering with the controls, so I opted for the Gear Sector mounts to keep the sling over the top and the Kriss closer to my body.
 
Back from the dead. Has anyone tried the stock mount pin sling attachment Kriss sells?

Yes, actually - but you're really limited where you can replace the pin (the rear two receiver pins or stock pin) - otherwise it conflicts with the charging handle. The other thing is that it eliminates the tool-less disassembly with the standard push-pins. I recently ended up revising my sling setup from a 2-point to 1-point, and I just kept the Gear Sector QD mount at the back of the rail. It actually works a bit better for an ambidextrous setup or transitioning.

Is there anyone in Canada that stocks them? Kriss recommends it to replace the folding stock pin there by retaining the tool less tear down (I don't remove the stock for tear down anyway) they also sell a Tac pak that includes a single point sling for use with it. A top mounted pic rail attachment will crowd the rail as I have a fairly large scope on mine with the irons.

I'm not sure offhand. I just didn't like the way it forced the sling to fall for me. Do note that the QD mount tends to bang into the rear sight if you use the stock pin.

This isn't the greatest picture, but you can see where the sling pin would replace the stock pin. For a south paw the setup will be fine, but on a right-hand setup the sling pulls the QD mount over the back of the rail. Hence why I moved the rear sight forward about an inch or so and mounted the Gear Sector QD mount as far back as possible. In terms of the other locations, the charging handle precludes the two pins on the receiver on the left side - and the ejection port eliminates the front most one on the right. And yes, I tend to agree - the lack of any integral QD sling mounts seems to be a huge oversight.
