Went out the other night and snuck up on some deer feeding we got to about 150 yards in an open feild and she went to shoot but didn't feel confident so we snuck to about 100 yards and she shot this buck droped him were he stood.He was not the hog we were after but she wanted to shoot it and this one was big to her.hopefuly that big guy is still around next year. she was very happy after she stopped crying.now she can't wait till next year.sorry for the dark feild photos I had to walk a mile back to the truck before we got back to take pictures.

she shot it with her rem 742 .308 thats the gun I took my first deer with.she was going to use her marlin 30-30 but was having troubles with the open sights.we don't feild dress them unless we have to pack them out.when we are allowed to drive in and it is close to home i prefer to gut them hanging.we were only 10 minutes from home.I always try to hang them as soon as possible it helps with skinning.she is alot happier than she looks in the pictures she was just trying to deal with taking the life of an animal bigger than her.the biggest thing she had shot before was a gopher.she did great though.Now I am just waiting for the guide bonus!

Depends what time of day you shot him...later in the day it is just as easy to take care back at the shop.Done it before will do it again.

I always prefer to gut them hanging.much faster imo.I completly skin the animal.cut the head off with the skin,cut the brisket then go up and do the belly,cut and tie the rear split the pelvise and let gravity take it out for you into a bucket.hardly any mess and no dirt to worry about.

Well done, good kill. One shot one kill! Just the way it is supposed to happen. Funny how all I ever seem to sell to the "Great hunters" around here are the 300 Win mags and 375's and yet this lovely little girl can kill the awsome killing machine known as the sabertooth whitetale with the tiny little .243. Gee maybe she knows how to shoot eh?
