After spending a year alone in the woods with his dog, he's back out pushing more of his hunting DVDs on Youtube. A couple new trailers up today.

Sure wish I spoke Norwegian. :D

Here's a couple of his older ones that are sorta cool, for those who haven't seen his stuff before.

Are those roe deer in the first video? They come to the call like a dog. Like the butcher job on the ice, clean and cold.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty neat too.

Those are roe deer in the first video. He has a lot of different stuff on Youtube, from moose to foxes to bears to these huge giant partridge-type birds that he snipes out of trees . . ..

cool check out the muffler on his gun .i would love to spend some time with a guy like that chasing thoes stags .nice country DUTCH

Second video down. When he lays out the meat on the ice all I could think was one thing:

FKIN DELICIOUS!

I can't wait for November! Ran out of my tasty buck about 2 months ago.

I'm new to hunting, so this is really a newb question:

What round will drop a moose like that? None of his shots involve any tracking. Everything he shoots just drops.

Any round that hits or shocks the CNS. The animals he shoots that are facing him are all taking a direct hit or getting a shock to the spinal column. They drop like a puppet with the strings cut. I've shot 12 deer and a moose in the last 3 years and never had to track -- it all dropped in its tracks. I used a .280 Rem but with where I was placing the shots I could have used a .22 Hornet.

Big calibres are quite useful though where you want/need to take that shot at the lungs. More damage = less tracking. The lungs are a big target and a sure kill if hit. Unless you really practice a lot and are really comfortable with your gun the broadside lung shot is the best to take.
