krylon and other ghetto ar paintjob pic thread. Other platforms welcome too

If you want better options, order a few cans of Aervoe from dstactical. Far better paint in far more shades then the usual tan, of green and dark brown offered by rustoleum and krylon.
 
I'm dissappointed that Canadian Tire has given up on Krylon. I had solid results with my old Norc/NEA hybrid.

Last time I was there the closest thing they had was high-heat BBQ paint.

I asked them about when they are getting more in, not till after the new storefront is fully up and running. So it may be a little wait.
 
I just grabbed a few cans of Rustoleum and some matte clear coat.

What kind of prep is really needed. Can I get away with just a good degreasing with alcohol, or do I need to go over everything with sand paper?

Is it wise to paint right over blueing, or does that require any special prep?

Could painting the barrel affect accuracy? This rifle is quite accurate and I don't want that to change. I plan to do a multicam pattern, so the layers will be a bit uneven.

I degrease with methyl alcohol, cause that's what I have. Isopropyl or denatured alcohol would be fine too. I only sand particularly smooth parts, YMMV

Don't get paint in the bore, it'll be fine.

Yeah, foliage is kinda grey with a greenish color, I checked out heros and I'm now creating needs to make a fuller order.. have a hard time justifiying paying as much shipping as the item itself.
