Not sure if this should be here or gunsmithing, but I'm looking at having ks rebarrel one of hunting rifles, and I'm just looking for feedback from some guys that have either used their barrels, or have had them build them a gun.

I've had Karl do this and that to a few of my guns in the distant past, and I would again.

I've had Karl chamber at least a dozen barrels. Workmanship has to be among the best. I used two of his barrels from the old days (none since the re-startup this year)...and they shot well.

Yes, anything you want. Cut rifled.

One of my 98 Mausers was done by Karl. Fabulous work and an excellent shooter.
Had a few other projects done by him. Top-notch work!

yes, the pricing i got from mike(karls son) is $800 for any contour, any twist, any length, installed and chambered on a 700 action. Obviously there are going to be limits as to the length and diameter of their blanks but as far as pricing goes $500 for barrel supply and $300 for smith work, they are in the same price range as everyone else. In my case fluting will be an extra $200ish and bolt face mods will be another $200.

If they shoot as well as other custom barrels that's a great deal. My last 700 re barrel was 1050$ by the time the dust settled but that did include some action work.

thats why this thread was started, trying to find guys with one of their new barrels. seems few and far between thus far, however i know a few guys that had their "old" barrels and they were all very happy
