Hello, I am looking for feedback on the single shot SA3R for F Class application. I've been looking at importing a Kelbly Prometheus so far, but with how terrible our dollar is and the import tariffs. All the SA3R reviews I've seen for the repeater version seem favorable for PRS/ Tac applications but I haven't seen any reviews for F class with the single shot.

I picked up a barrelled 2 lug wolverine from them halfway through last year. I haven’t shot it all that much, but it definitley holds in the 0.3s moa or better.

Depends what you’re looking for I guess. I’m definitely not a top tier competitior, but I like supporting Canadian business because that’s the only way our Canadian builders are going to get better. If you’re near Edmonton I suggest you swing by and chat with Mike for a few minutes and check one out in person. I like shopping with him.

I have to ask why you’d go with the 3 lug over a two?

Have you looked at IBI's HMB (Hold My Beer) action? I have only seen pictures of it. A friend of mine bought one but I have not seen it in person.

I raise my glass to you! It's absolutely true -- if we want top quality products available in this country, we have to support those who try to make them. And we really do have some fantastic manufacturers in business here -- KS Arms, PGWDTI, ATRS, and so on. IBI making quality barrels here is another game changer. And when it comes to custom hunting rifle builders, we already have one of the global top 5 (in my opinion) in Ralf Martini. No one get to that level without starting lower on the ladder and learning their craft over time. And no one gets the chance to learn without the support of customers who want them to succeed. We get what we pay for.

There are a few stores with Kelblys in stock but I do think they are all repeaters or Pandas.

Bustercluck: I currently have a KS barrel on for my 6.5CM and am happy with it. I'm in ON so I'm a ways away from Edmonton. The reason I'm interested in the SA3R is because they offer it in a single shot without the ejector, and because it can take prefits.

maynard: I have seen the HMB on their website. I'd like to stick with an action with integrated recoil lug and rail if possible though if I was going that route I'd likely get an Atlas Tactical and have a mechanical ejector.

Lakkenbak: I believe the last 308 bolt face Prometheus sold a week or two ago. There are some Atlas Tac and Pandas in 308 out there still. RDSC has some more on order with no timeline and I'm betting any new actions that come in soon will be hit with another 25% at the Border.

Sorry to hear. Did you check a manitoba gunshop, dont think he is a sitesponsor? They got some proms in right after I bought my atlas in late January

I believe that is where I was looking at the last Prometheus. There’s still a possibility that I’ll try and import one with 75 degree bolt and hope like hell the tariffs are done by the time it’s coming across

My wolverine is a single shot and I pulled the ejector out as well. I’m sure Mike would toss the ejector in a bag for you instead of installing it.

I think I’d prefer the full-on ejector delete on the 3 lug for the added case head support. How does your Wolverine perform for you? Do you get ejector hole flow on hot loads?

I don’t think I’ve pushed that one hard enough yet. I loaded up a couple of different loads last year and they shot good enough so I went with it. I’ll put a target below my wife shot with it off of a ####ty bipod and rear bag. Over the winter I bought a joypod x and I’m trying to encourage her to shoot f/tr this year, but as is I just bolted the action into a mdt acc with no bedding or anything. I’m expecting it to improve a bit. I’ll report back over the next couple weeks.

I own 2 defiance, the ks arms, a cadex and I had a bat machine before. I prefer non-stainless with nitride coating. I find stainless actions to fetch up a tad compared to steel, but polished stainless obviously looks nicer. My wifes cadex looks like it’s probably a 1/4 minute gun, she just posted in the 1/2” 100 yard challenge at the top of the page. I’ll get her out with the ks arms and get her used to the joypod over the next couple weeks and see how good she can do.

The KS SAR3 is SLICK. I don't think theres a better Canadian made action out there imo. And as you've discovered, their barrels are awesome too. You won't regret going with a full KS setup.

If their products are good enough for the Canadian F-Class team, they're good enough for me!!

I’m sure you know, but the ks arms is a one piece bolt and one piece body with integral lug.

I looked at the ibi or ultimatum and I went for the one pice bolt. Maybe it makes a difference, maybe it doesn’t.

I’ve seen those other pristines around too and they seem a bit out there to me. The bearing roller deal and savage barrel nut? Idk.

By all reports the KS actions are solid and compared to other comparable actions they are a good bit cheaper. I only hesitate since obviously they aren’t one of the big common American names that are normally talked about.

After owning 5-6 ks arms barrels and there sa3R I can tell you to buy with confidence. Mike and the team there are excellent to deal with and there products are top notch. I own quite a few other actions and the ks hangs in there with the best of them. I have 0 experience with there single shots though

Bustercluck Without the ejector I'm guessing you just manually pull the empty cases out of the port by hand? Is this ever a pain?
I don’t find it a pain, but mine is chambered in 223. Honestly it’s probably better because the brass goes right back in the box instead of on a dirty table or the ground. It just sticks to the bolt face and it pries out easily. I only took mine out because it was flattening one side of the brass on ejection. I probably could’ve clipped a few coils off of the spring to solve that, but it’s good as is.
