Kuchenreuter flintlock pistol

A friend at the Aurura Gun Club, brought out his original Kuchenreuter flintlock pistol to show me his methodical reloading process. While I own antiques, it was special to shoot something that’s roughly 200-220 years old.

The owner besides be a good shooter, he’s well organized which made the loading process really enjoyable. I think he’s shooting around 25-28 grains of 3F. Ball was around 490-495.

Brian, that's very cool! I shoot percussion sxs shotgun once in awhile but have shot with a friend's flint sxs shotgun. The impressive thing is that the charge can easily match modern specs for payload and velocity. The yellow stuff, looks like corn meal? If so, that's new to me. We would load black, then nitro card, then lubed fibre wad, shot, overshot card.

Yellow stuff is likely COW... just guessing mind you. Logic kinda lead me to that conclusion. I didn't watch the video...internet is too ####ty out here.

Yes a well organized setup is more fun to observe than fiddling with his flint pistol as we can see someone's do at the gun club.. lol
