Not going to be long in the tooth ,just need to send out a big thank you! I recently online made a purchase with a credit card with Go Big Tactical for approximately $900. It was flagged and they sent me an email to clarify the situation which we did! It was to prevent a fraudulent credit card transaction from taking place. They were more concerned with someone being frauded than just putting the package in the mail which I am totally impressed with. a business not operated out of just greed but exhibiting a morale code to protect honest people! I am a lifelong customer and from the bottom of my heart thank them for their values and support of our sport! Forever indebted . KINDESS REGARDS Chris. Ps I live in Ontario

Personally, I don't want or need a business to "flag" my purchase... that is the job of your credit card company, they have algorithms for spotting unusual and non-typical spending... if the business does it, it is just more work for me... and they are not doing it for their customer, they are doing it so that they don't get defrauded... it usually happens when the "ship to" address is not the same as the "bill to" address.

Made a purchase with GBT a while back, and they answered all my questions beforehand.

Did the transaction, and all was smooth. They shipped it Canpar to a local drop off location, where it could be safely held, so it would be secure because I was away from home when it was going to be delivered.

I like dealing with people who have common sense and respond to your questions and shipping instructions. My life is complicated and I try to be organized and expect the same from those I do business with.

You can’t handle an email so a business can keep prices down due to fraud?

Correct, I do not want my purchases to be "second guessed" by a vendor... I will sort potential fraud issues out with the bank... when I buy it, pack it and ship it.

We have been defrauded a few time by way of online purchases and are a witness and complainant against "international organized crime" out of the Montreal area. Businesses have to watch each and every online purchase as attempted fraud is rampant. It is the business that suffers as the true card holder simply does a chargeback. Identity theft accounts for many millions of dollars in losses in Canada alone and is on the rise, largely due to the lack of resources by most police departments. The best that we have seen are the Surete du Quebec.

Out of curiosity, why was the OP's credit card purchase "flagged" to begin with? Was some information entered incorrectly or in the wrong order?
I know that banks/credit cards often flag "unusual"purchases or those made in irregular places.

We responded in gratitude to the OP for posting. We won't be posting any further details about the transaction itself although I understand people are curious we won't be putting any personal information about the transaction or details on here as that may also assist others in committing fraud

Id prefer a call or txt over email. At least its immediate. Ive had a credit card flagged and account frozen and it was quite upsetting having to borrow money to get home.
I went on a spending spree visiting friends from windsor to Peterborough and ended up stranded at a restaurant when my card and accounts were frozen

It was bmo bank that screwed me. I have it set with mastercard to call about any concerns.

Ive had them call me about orders from cabelas that were backordered so long i forgot about the items. Then get a call from mastercard about the pending charges. That doesnt bother me a bit. Somehow they knew i hadnt placed a new order and yet was charged. If they just sent an email i might not receive it in a timely fashion. An online item bought to be shipped ya its ok if its held up for a day or 2 but flagging a card could freeze an account depending on how it was done and could cause issues
Im not saying this site sponsor did right or wrong or how far they looked into it as a scam but id still do business with them.
For anyone on the fence call your card company and have it set to a call or txt. They are actually quite helpful when nothing is happening. Ive called and questioned many things. Mostly pending charges as some companies have weird ways of doing things

Bottom line is theres ways to protect yourself and i rarely worry about dealing with site sponsors. Any issues ive had with other dealers were righted by mastercard

I've made a credit card purchase from GBT and that particular part of the purchase was without issue as was expected. I wasn't curious about anyone's personal information and I have no interest in promoting fraud. Perhaps my reference to the OP in my question is misunderstood. In general I was wondering what can lead a vendor to flag a credit card purchase as potentially fraudulent. But maybe that general information is for some reason best kept secret.

The reason it was flagged was the banks error. It showed my wifes old address from three years ago and it didn't match the shipping address of present. I personally don't own a credit card and pay for everything with cash. If I don't have the cash to purchase I don't buy till I do. It keeps me from buying compulsively, requires time to save so more thought involved for my weak mind! You are a true gentleman grauhanen and there is nothing misunderstood. It is a valid question. Hope to someday have the pleasure of sending rounds downrange with you! Cheers to all Chris PS she still likes me enough to use her card haha Quick thanks once again GBT

Miserable people like the spread their misery.

Businesses can lose big time when credit cards are used fraudulently. There is nothing wrong with a business confirming that the online transaction they are conducting is a valid one.

gobig is a great company to deal with, reason why ive given them more business. they're my go to guys now. this just goes to show that they care about their customers more than just raking in coin.

I haven’t dealt with GBT yet but a few friends have and it was good. Knowing they are taking extra steps to reduce fraud is also good to hear.
