Hey Guys....

Put this together today.. Turned out pretty good, although I'm going to change a couple of things on it...

Surefire Defender mounted to the extended magazine of my 870 Folder. Light is actuated with my right thumb..

I had a G2 mounted in a barell clamp type mount,, but didn't work well and only had momentary On.. The Defender works much better...

Let me know what you think...

Hey Forbes...

Somewhere along the line you are probably going to be right.. :)

However we put two boxes of my Tweaked reloads through her today with no problem, both from the shoulder and folded from the hip.. The only thing that hurts right now is the second knuckle on my trigger hand..There's a hot spot under the stock that's getting me... A little padding with some thin foam will solve that though..

I For sure see your issue with it ,,a different light may be better...
Maybe try the L4 or E2O,although I don't really want LED on her either...

There's actually quite a bit of room between the Defender and the slide though,,looks closer than it is...

Thanks for the input, noted and taken under advisement ...

It's a nice clean and simple rig. I like it, sorry if I didn't say it in the first post. I was just concerned that with that particular flashlight you would lose some skin, but if it's working for you then it's working. I would suggest you say with an LED as they are brighter, longer running and most importantly, far less sesitive to recoil than a regular bulb, even the surefires (the surefire forends use a different bezel than the hand held version, having foam to cushion the bulb).

Hey Forbes....

No man,, that's cool,,, good observation.. Critique is good..I rely on it with my business..Makes me better at what I do...

I agree it could become a problem,,anything sharp has gotta go... I've got a bunch of surefires that would be better suited for sure.. It's just the Defender I don't use to make sheaths,, so I really don't need it for the business...

I prefer Incandescent for weapons lights,, especially in the bush..Just throw light further and brighter...

I may try a G2,, but want to keep the bulk down a little.. Eventually I'd like to get a combo light/laser and with S&J's barrel clamp rail system I think this will solve some problems..

I believe most Surefires are shockproof to recoil,,so that's not a big deal.. Bulb burnout due to use is more of a concern to me.. That is were LED will outshine an Incandescent hands down..

Thanks Forbes...

Hey PP

I'm using .125 Concealex for the torch mounts.. The .125 is rugged and should hold up nicely..

I order the kydex in by the 4X8 sheet...
