Well ladies and gentleman, I've been given permission to let the cat out of the bag. I've been dropping hints about having found a company to make the aluminum AR180B lowers and that company is Kyle Precision Arms, which I will refer to from here on out as KPA.

KPA is a brand spanking new company but don't let that fool you. This isn't just some guy sitting in his garage one day that said, "I'm going to build guns." and then bought a manual milling machine. The key players in the company have the financial backing and skilled personal to back up their outlandish claims. For example, the head designer comes with an aeronautical engineering background, among other qualifications, so you can be assured of high precession and quality parts. In my humble opinion, this company is starting out right. They went out and bought brand new, state of the art CNC machines. I've seen them, they are impressive. They are also building what we, the consumer, want. They will be focusing more on suppling product to reputable dealers, rather than selling items themselves.

Now for the good news, these guys aren't stopping at parts. The general idea of this shop is "Why are we paying $100 for a part from the US when we can make and sell it here for $50?"

The first products out the door with be small items like scope rails and rings, one of the first being stainless steel scope rails for the Swiss Arms line of rifles. Good news is, they aren't stopping there. There is very serious intention to bring to market Canadian made, NON-RESTRICTED rifles to compete with the AR10 and AR15 series of rifles. You heard me correct, the Holy Grail we've been waiting for, a non-restricted .308 black rifle.

The heads of this new company are long range rifle shooters. This means good things for all you precision shooters. Canadian made .50 BMG rifles and components, as well as all the other fun chamberings like .308, .338, and others.

As I said, this is a fresh start up company so it will take time before they have complete rifles coming out the doors. I heard estimates of a year before complete rifles will be offered, but that is a rough estimate. That being said, its a great time to be a Canadian gun owner. The days of overpriced and hard to get US items are coming to an end. Hell, these guys are already looking for a bigger shop and they haven't even sold anything yet!

If you are still not excited, I heard talk of complete AR15's under $1000. ;)

Almost forgot: http://www.kyleprecisionarms.ca/ It's pretty sparse right now, but there should be some good action on there in a month or two. The site appears to be down currently due to Telus dumb ####ery.

NOTE: I will not answer PMs on this topic, so don't send them. If you have questions, ask in this thread and if I can answer them, I will.

Maybe hold off on that a bit, they haven't even shown you guys anything. They have a bunch of orders to fill before they can start taking custom orders. ;)

For all we know, maybe the AR15 lowers already have the pictogram selector?

I'll bite.

Who are the owners? Where are they located? Do they have a website/storefront? Will products be sold direct to comsumers or go through a dealer? What is the ETA of some of their benchmarks?

Really interesting news! Remember Henry Ford? A Model T could be had in any colour the customer wanted, as long as it was black? Folks are going to be wanting this, that, and every other thing. The company will want to get established, a solid basic product line, and not go off on tangents. Build slowly and deliberately.

Non restricted .308 black rifle. That's something that's been on my list for a long time. I've been waiting for the fabled release of the XCR-M, but a high-quality Canadian made alternative makes me feel all tingly inside.

Who are the owners?
Wendy Cukier and Allan Rock. :D
I don't think I'm the one who should be given out other peoples names. I can tell you this, they are good people who love shooting and pissing off Liberals.

Where are they located?
Due to obvious security reasons, they don't want the exact location of their shop known. I can say Western Canada, north of the US border but south of the NWT border.

Do they have a website/storefront? Will products be sold direct to consumers or go through a dealer?
I posted the website above but it looks to be down, I know they were doing some server work when I was there. They will primarily be providing product to reputable dealers, I'll leave it up to them to chime in.

What is the ETA of some of their benchmarks?
Within a month or two they should have some product coming out the door for the public. I do believe the PE90 rails are the first items they will be making.

i STILL can't get it to fly- and i went .com instead of ca
actually, scratch that- it shows as under construction- thank god for yaho there's a profile there as well

I for one am happy to another Canadian company moving into this arena. I'll refrain from "Iwant Iwant Iwant" with part requests, but I will say that if I can buy a Canadian made part from a Canadian source, I will.

You've got my support!

sounds like a good deal...hope it work out well for everyone.

just a quesiton....is "KPA" related to a above sponsor?

I placed an order with one of the above and the emails were signed KPA.
