Amazing Engineering

I found a prototype rest at the range in the Moncton area one time and it was made similar to a cinder block.
Amazing piece of work and it had two see through compartments. I presume one compartment your Tim’s and the other for smokes. If it was used late in the year you could probably use a dried cow chip to rest the rifle on. Probably invented it incase there was an explosion from shooting reloads through your Remington 710.

Anyone else picture some guy using this with an old sporter enfield with "rifle" in red marker on the stock.

Exactly- it doesn't tell you where to put the rifle.

And before you start cranking them out at your home workshop, don't forget you'll have to include a safety sheet (in both official languages, of course) warning the end user of potential dangers, such as splinters, not to insert in ears, modifications will void the warranty, etc. And most important, if you want to export them, that it "contains chemicals known to cause cancer in the State of California." (No quibbling- everything does, you know.)

All this should ensure that the retail price will be somewhere around $30.
