Nope, I've spent over 20yrs in both places and there is a BIG difference between Ont and the Maritimes.

Yes the Maritime is the Maritime but Ontario is wholly situated in Eastern Canada. The geographic centre of Canada, regardless of common usage, is actually Arviat, Nunavut not Ontario.
